The famous discourse of Herbert Marcuse in the 60's concerning people focused narrowly on their specialties and ignoring the world at large, may also be applied to the Maximum Leader in the present. He appears to come alive when he is either about to do someone serious harm or when he is pulling a con on someone. It is at these moments one notices a sparkle in his eyes which at other occassions are dead. His belief that he is innately superior to others regardless of merit comes through on all occassions as when he told Bob Woodward "I don't believe I owe anyone any explanation of why I do things;maybe they have to explain why they do things to me,but I don't."
Even in his ordinary encounters with people far less endowed with his good fortune, he feels the need to belittle their daily travails. He,of course, considers poor people lazy. Those who cross his path are sure to feel his swift revenge. He has no use for laws because such laws impede his totalitarian impulse which are fed and nourished by two of the biggest megalomaniacs in this country's history-- Cheney and Rumsfeld.
He, of course, likes to surround himself with pompous know nothings who have learned to raise servility to a fine art.The more of an empty vessel he is, the more noise he makes without producing anything meaningful.May be a zero dimensional man would be a more apt name for him.

And to think this vacuous, evil little man might get "elected" is beyond my comprehension. Makes one wonder about those who would vote for and otherwise support him.
I have only one wish, desire and prayer: DEFEAT BUSH!!

The closing of the American mind, the marginalization of critical discourse, consumption-as-choice...all more on point today than ever
