Idiot called for me to vote for this jerk that's running against Patti Wetterling (D). When I told her I was voting for Patti and that I'm a Demo and would never vote Repub. she started screaming at me!

I told her never to call my home again and to take my name off the repub. list. She screamed even louder. She said that if Kerry gets in office, we'll all die! I slammed the phone down one her!

Gosh, it's scary being in a swing state!

Got a call from a friendly sounding, elderly lady asking me if I could help President Bush. Now, normally I don't think fast on my feet, but something came over me.
I replied, "Sure, I can buy him a ticket back to Crawford, Texas. Maybe help pack his clothes, provide an employment reference..."

7. I'm in a swing state too and they are driving me crazy...

Almost everyday their flyers are in my mail box. They started calling my house last week. My first of the day started about 10 am and hung up on them and then unplugged my phone. They must be hitting all the registered Dems they can. I wish I had some of their telephone numbers! ARGH!!

8. Hey, let's think of a way to use this incident

Could you call back and ask to talk to her or whoever is supervising the callers? Could you see if you could get her or the other person going again and record the conversation (if legal in MN to record your own conversation), then turn it over to the Dem Party? (though they are probably too busy right now to do anything with it).

Every time some Repuke asshole says something stupid or mean to me, I wish I had it recorded.

that the people who are phoning for Kennedy are just as vicious and slimy as his advertising shows him to be? I wish I lived in that district so I could vote for Patti, 'cuz I sure want to see Kennedy with his face in the dirt.

The only two times I was contacted by wingnut campaigns was once by a recorded push poll and another by some outsourced guy in India (Tim Michels campaign in Wisconsin).

But I was out today, and noticed a Wisconsin Dem flyer (Kerry, Feingold, Moore) at my door upon my return (knock and drop canvasser, I guess). Made me smile.

Thankfully, I'm in a hard Dem district (north side of Milwaukee), so the GOP usually leaves me the hell alone. I have family members in Waukesha County (aka GOP mealticketville) that get hounded by Bush calls constantly.

Unless that campaign is in the habit of checking to be sure people are OFF their meds before they are hired, I would guess that phoner's back got the last straw with your call. The resentment and anger surely had to building along the way....

Pity you didn't keep her on the phone, arguing with her and telling her what a hapless tool she is....toying with her, like a cat with a small, crippled rat....whacking her with facts, crumbling her staunchly held beliefs, ripping her idiot-ology to shreds....

My relatives do this for sport--they get together and regale one another with their clever quips and comebacks. They have it down to a brutal science. They frequently use the "stupid voter" tactic, claiming to know nothing about the candidate, demanding a full run down on all the issues, putting the phone down to "let the dog out" or "go pee" or "answer the door, the UPS man is here." When they are asked for contributions, they say the unemployment ran out and the welfare hasn't kicked in yet...they are amazed the phone is still on, they haven't paid the bill in three months!

Vicious, and lovely! Effective, too!

My hubby has started something new. We got a call from the company we bought our computer from the other day...think they wanted to sell us something. When the guy was done my hubby said, now let me talk to you. First he asked where the guy was calling from. (outsourcing???) It was the U.S.. Asked him if he was registered to vote and went from there. Now we will do this with every call we get! We're not in a swing state (I hope!) but the caller may be!

I just got another call asking me to vote for a repug and I started asking the caller why they wanted me to vote for * - before he could answer, I started telling him why he should vote democratic. LOL, he started screaming at me too! But at least this time, I got my chance to turn the tables!

25. I don't answer my phone

I have an answering machine and on it I kept the mechanical voice that says, "please leave a message after the tone." Everyone who knows me knows enough to talk to the machine because I will pick up. Anyone who doesn't and just hangs up, is out of luck. Solicitors that try to leave a message, I will listen to and if they are something I'm not interested in, I'll pick up the phone, click it on and hang up on them.

I refuse to be badgered on my own telephone.

with a small group and we've had a couple of people pull off the road and threaten us, shot the bird hundreds of times, disgusting language, people driving by with half their bodies out the windows cursing at us, in general, the republicans have shown their true colors -- very mean-spirited people -- having to come out of the denial and face reality and they're not liking it.
