MI Man Charged With Threatening Cheney

A man was charged Friday with making a threat against the life of Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites) during his campaign visit to Michigan, the U.S. attorney's office said.

Homer O. Shoup Jr. of Wayland made the threats in a 911 call Friday morning, U.S. Attorney Margaret Chiara said a statement. Authorities apprehended him a few hours later in Grand Rapids around the time Cheney was about an hour's drive away in Dimondale, Mich., for a rally, Michigan state police said.

Any who threaten their persons deserve swift and sure punishment. We can't afford to let it slide for anyone because of legal prescedent.

om edit: My fingers are behind my mind. IMO he should be charged with threatening the lives of every person attending the rally either by choice or because it was their job to attend (police, security, etc).

Their owned by repub's (LIN Broadcasting)! That would be the last place I'd drop off something like that! I used to work for WOTV in Battle Creek - big nest of repugs there.

No, he shouldn't have done this. But some people are being pushed to their edge. But I'll bet the repubs have made many of the same threats, we just don't hear about them.
