Something I noticed about the touchscreen voting machines |
|
When I finished voting, the machine pushed my card out somewhat. about 10 seconds later it said my vote has been recored.
I find this interesting because suppose I had taken my card out (when it was pushed out somewhat) before it actually said 'my vote has been recorded'. I almost made that mistake. I wonder if someone made that mistake, would they lose their vote.
I find this a little deceiving.

1. What card are you talking about? |
|
Where I vote (touch screen) we have no cards! We just push buttons & leave.

4. It would depend on the model of machine |
|
If I recall correctly, most of the machines use the card primarily to trigger the correct combination of races for you. The results of your interaction with the machine are NOT recorded on the card, they're supposed to be recorded inside the machine.
What may be of concern is that if the card was ejected prior to the machine having marked it as used or voted then re-inserting the card may have presented an opportunity to vote more than once.
My guess is that your vote was as counted as anyones, just you may have missed an opportunity to vote twice.
