The ususal lame duck dance with a few pardons, or will there be an evenr that causes martial law and a postponent of the transfer? I certainly wouldn't put it past them.

12. Too bad for most of them
you have to be convicted of the crime before the pardon can be handed out. They better hurry up those trials for DeLay, Kenny Boy, Cheney, Rummy, etc.

21. No, see CAP WEINBERGER
Indicted, hadn't even gone to trial, Poppy pardoned him to keep him from singing.

3. I think he's gonna cry a lot! And maybe realize the failure that
he is and the mess he's left this country in. Maybe...he'll just go away quietly and we'll never have to see his smirky, arrogant face again.

One last parting shot.

14. I'm not sure he can do that. Being a recess appointment, it would
only be good until the next Congress takes over anyway. Also, I don't think this Court wants to get involved with anymore Bush shenanigans. They are so tainted now.

17. He can do it and that would give him almost a year, at least from what
I've read here. The Supreme Court can do a lot of damage in a year!

22. Recess appointments are valid until the next Congress
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 09:58 PM by Kerryfan
takes office which would be Jan 5.

The Supreme Court now has 2 cases pending before it on the question of Bush's recess appointments to lower courts. That would make for a real kettle of fish if a Supreme Court Justice who was appointed in recess is asked to rule on Presidential recess appointments.

I've found different answers on Google. I guess if Bush made the appointment before Jan 5 it would last only until Jan 5, but if he waited until after the new Congress took office on Jan 5, then the appointment would last until the end of that Congressional term.
I think.

6. He'll spend a lot of time
in Crawford, break out in boils, clear brush, and sulking around like a 10-year old who got cut from the school baseball team. Cheney will be in Washington shredding every piece of paper he can get his hands on.

7. Everybody who could do them harm
...will get a pardon.

Poppy will get one for Iran-Contra. Rove will get one for the Plame outing. Laura will get one for that prostitution arrest in Midland in '66

Oh wait...I meant SOME SAY Laura did that last thing. :bounce:

10. Pardons and plenary indulgences
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 09:12 PM by PATRICK
for sins not yet committed. Appointments. Directives selling all governments assets, gutting regulations.

Clear brush at Crawford.

Look into prospects of being Baseball Commissioner to remove the Red Sox from professional leagues. Set up more pitfalls for Kerry.

Clear brush at Crawford.

Get to know daughters again in congenial settings of bars and discos. Fire Colin Powell. Fire Rove. Cry on Cheney's shoulder every Friday.

Clear brush at Crawford.

Start building the presidential library with a small Lego kit. Start reading the Bible to see what he missed. Get Orson Card to work on his autobiography. Give interview to David Frost to place the blame on Clinton.

Clear brush at Crawford.

Arrange a ticker tape parade of shredded documents through whatever city ion America where he wins 90% of the vote.

Hire environmentalists to plant more shrubs and trees at his ranch.

Get stone raving plastered.

20. I think they'll be too busy
filing election-related lawsuits to do anything else. I can't see them giving up power without a huge fight. Kerry may even need law enforcement assistance to remove the chimp from the WH in January.
