2. Most of my friends in Tx already voted for Kerry!
the only people I know in tx that are voting for bush are my close-minded rich relatives! Everyone else I know (lots) is/did voting/ed for Kerry. I saw one poll there that said Bush only had the state by 11 pts, and that was a month ago. It would be the best gift ever if shrub lost in Texas. I voted for Ann Richards and cried when she lost, if she had won, maybe none of this nightmare would have ever happened...I knew then that he was a piece of shit.

texas has a good history of switching parties, let's hope it happens unexpectedly this year!! (yes, I am an optimist)

6. I agree
I think Virginia is when we know the election is over.

Short nail biter night but a long celebration night.

14. I agree as well!
I just drove (five hours) back from Northern Virginia. Kerry signs and bumper stickers everywhere. Northern Virginia has a lot (or enough) of liberal yuppies and government workers who vote Democratic, southern Virginia has a lot of African-Americans. I was surprised how much Northern Virginia was "Kerry territory".

4. W Virginia has been getting closer and closer lately
And that state has the second highest percentage of new voter registations in the nation. This could be an early shccker and the bellweather of a very bad evening for Bush.

8. Oops! Thanks!
I always mix that up. Just seems like Repukes should be blue - blueblood and all.

We should be red, since we're such big "socialists" and all...:eyes:

10. Virginia!!!
GOTV is massive in Northern Virginia. Tons of people who've never volunteered, (e.g., me) are helping. Virginia is NOT a rural state.

2000 Census (fast growing state so growth in No. VA and Metro areas has continued):

- 7.1 million total population
- 5.1 million metropolitan area population (yikes!)
- 2.1 million Northern Virginia (part of the 5.1 million figure)

So, what do you think? Not too many polls, usually 50-47 Bush. Not too many people in the few polls done. Polls leave out new voters. Gore lost 52-48. More Northern Virginians (most liberal part of state), more metro dwellers (more Democratic historically), bunch of new voters, and lots of hard workers. Quelle surprise!

15. My sister voted early in Tx. (Houston) and she said the wait
was two hours. She went with my cousin and they couldn't believe it. It's hard to say what it all means....My biggest dream (along with a Kerry landslide) would be that * looses Texas. Also, one of my very best friends spoke with an old college friend on the phone the other night. They've always had different political views (my friend being a California Democrat and her friend being a Texas Republican) and have agreed over these past four years to NEVER discuss politics. Anyway, her Texas friend said just a couple of day ago: "you're never going to believe this but I'm NOT voting for Bush. I just can't bring myself to do it. I'm coming over to your side and voting for Kerry! My friend was shocked. Also, her father, a lifelong Republican in on board for Kerry.

13. Florida
He's going to win the state.

And win it decisively. They'll try to steal it. They'll try to challenge it.

But in the end, Kerry will prevail - he will carry the 27 EVs.

Of course, he won't even need it, because he'll also take OH and all Gore states...except maybe NM.

Nevada, Missouri, Colorado---so you're asking what state that has been touted as Red could surprise us. I would say...Virginia...wait, that's a swing state too. Mmm, Tennessee, I guess.
