Is Kevin Costner brain dead?
Im watching Real Time with Bill Maher and Costner is on the show and hes saying we must vote for Ralph Nader.

The panel is trying to explain to him about the evils of Shrub, and hes like I dont care.

P.S. Wes Clark is brilliant!

2. He's never been a brain.
People confuse him with some of the roles he's played, like Jim Garrison in JFK. He's an actor, he isn't the characters he plays, and he's not even that talented an actor. All he has to do is take direction from a director, they can take as many takes as they need to until he gets it right, and then they can enhance his performance in the editing studio. If they can make pug dogs look as if they can talk, they can make Kevin Costner come across like another Olivier.

I have never understood the fascination with actors and other celebrities, and the belief that they are somehow imbued with worthiness, intelligence and virtue because their line of work makes them a public figure. Lots of them are dumber than a box of rocks.

When Costner skyrocketed into being a bigtime actor, he dumped his wife and kids. In an interview he said he did it because "It's all about me now. I have to concentrate on me." That interview turned a lot of people off to him. He's got a reputation for being very self-centered, and not particularly intelligent.

I doubt many people will let Kevin Costner's blathering influence their vote.

If you work with actors you realize something:

They're the last people you'd want to ask opinions of on anything other than ACTING.

26. Triple YES.
I saw the show and couldn't make any sense of his inane ramblings - and true to form, he admitted he *still* hadn't decided who he'll vote for. His grotesque performance on the Bill Maher show gave us a chance to look into the imbecility of the "undecided voter".

Did you see how many times Wes Clark would try to say something and Kevin interrupted him?

Earth to Kevin Costner: Alert! 3 days before the election, we are a hell of a lot more interested in what Gen Clark wants to say than in your idiotic ramblings.

Worst show of the season for Maher. Idiot actor and ann :puke: coulter. What a disappointment.

14. Worst show of the season
Costner is a moran. And he monopolized the show with his idiotic ramblings.

And with ann coulter as a 'guest' I was ready to vomit by the time the show was over. If it wasn't for Richard Belzer, I would have turned it off. Wes Clark was good too.

Or was that last season?

Gee -- what's he done lately? What was his last hit - "Waterworld?" No -- before that.... Wyatt Eaarp? No, before that....

Looking for a bit of courage before he went out in a public forum -- something he's not used to doing.

He came off as extremely naive, and more than a bit shellacked.

18. And also? Ann Coulter is psychotic
She just claimed that John Kerry is only in the position to run for president because of, family connections, i.e., Teresa's money. "Far much more than Bush." Belzer called her a "fascist party doll."

The woman needs to be on some serious medication.

Kevin Costner isn't so bad. His point is that people should be allowed to vote for whoever they want, and he's right, they should, it's just not very smart.

And Ann Coulter? She's either psychotic or the biggest opportunist ever. I'm almost convinced she's kidding.

WTF was she talking about? The woman is insane, and it's a strange way for a woman to say it...I scoffed at the rumors about her being a man, but maybe... I can't imagine a woman even saying it that way if she didn't think women should vote.

I am going to look for the transcript...

36. odd about Ann...
for someone as highly educated and vaunted amoung RWers for her intellect and crushing debate style, she's remarkable non sequitor and incoherent. It bugs me when a debator cannot stay on thread long enough to make a point, especially if they go off topic for cheap ad hominens. Costner, of course, epitomized this rambling non-debate style. He's my new insult when I'm 'politickin' with my friends ("C'mon, don't Coster me, man." "Don't go all Crazy with Wolves on me here"... feel free to make your own)

I could be wrong, but I don't think we ever considered those undecideds. Maybe that's why Nader's numbers have fallen, all his voters moved over to undecided. What if there aren't anymore undecideds thinking about Bush at all???
