That Osama tape skit at the opening of SNL was hilarious
Osama: "Sure, John Kerry wants to provide health care for everyone, but can he really fund it?"

it underscored how hilarious it is to have this Boogie Man terrorist coming across as sensative to issues in this election.

If they basicly advocated abuse against women they really crossed the line there.

2. I didn't think it was very funny either.
I enjoyed the Clinton/Kerry sketch more. I don't mind drwing up a contrast between them since it reminds people of how great Clinton was.

6. I'm surprised you liked that skit
It showed how weak John Kerry is with respect to getting people behind him.

9. Naw, I thought it showed that nobody shines like Clinton.
Very few pols can do what Clinton does to a crowd. To say that Kerry pales next to Clinton in terms of charisma is no insult. 99.99% of politicians can't come close to matching him.

It didn't portray Kerry as unlikeable or incompetent. Think of how Bush is constantly portrayed.

The voters can be kinda shallow, but even the shallowest of voters like to fancy themselves as "voting on the issues and character". I don't think it really hurt him. The OBL sketch highlighting THK's 'unusual' personality is probably more hurtful.

12. Oh, please. Don't feign ignorance.
If you don't know the mainstream media's caricatures of the personalities of this election by now, I'm not going to be the one to enlighten you.

Sketch shows like SNL are ALL about exploiting and amplifying those caricatures.

Do you think Clinton is REALLY the fun-loving rock star portrayed in the other SNL sketch? Hell no, he's often a dead-serious intellectual. He's also not a liberal. But good luck erasing mainstream media's perceptions and caricatures of these people.

15. Promoted wife-beating? What planet are you on???
OBL is the most hated man on the face of the earth! If HE is promoting wife-beating, you can pretty much assume that is a BAD thing that will be taken as EVIL.

Some people are never happy. And most of them are on DU.
