I can't wait for March 4th, 2004..... when the BIG battle begins |
|
March 4th 2004. The day after Super Tuesday. The delegates from that day will more than likely have decided who the lucky man is. Oh let me count the days until this glorious time in our history. You see my dear friends, this is the day we will know the 2004 Democratic Nominee. Or should I say the next President of the United States.
How I look forward to this day! No more stupid posts on why one Democrat is better than the next candidate. No more hearing about why one guy is the right choice because only he can beat Bush.
Sure, there will always be the 2.7% (Nader vote) of people who persist in not backing whoever the candidate is because they don't agree with them on one issue or another. They will hem, and haw, and otherwise just spend there time trying to divide everyone or convince someone there really isn't a difference between Bush and whoever the Dem is. Well, in other words, they'll work to re-elect Bush. But who really cares about them anyway.
The vast majority will immediately begin working to elect whoever the Dem is. Because anything, including a flying pig, is better than Bush.
You see it really doesn't matter who the Dem is, unless of course it's Lieberman. Because this election will be a referendum on Bush. Period. The Dem will attack and Bush will defend. And the people will decide if they want Bush back. The best part of those days will be NOT having to hear about Dem vs Dem.

Super tuesday is march 2, so you really are looking forward to march 3. I'm hearing rumors of a debate, if needed, on the third where I work. Florida's primary isn't til the ninth

But unlike you, I really think this primary could go down to the wire.
I don't think America has seen a primary like this one is gonna be in ages.
I think we're gonna see a three-way race between Kerry, Dean and Lieberman all the way to the end.

3. I really can't see Lieberman lasting long, despite what the media says |
|
He cannot possibly ignite the populace like other candidates have/will. The man is a toad. I just can't figure out why the press insists that he is a viable candidate.

4. It might NOT be over then! |

If Clark enters the race, does well, Kerry hangs in there and dean leads without securing the number of delegates needed, we could be headed for a convention in which the unelected delegates (dem. political pros, office-holders, etc.) hold the balance of power. In this plausible, but I think improbable, scenario, it could be a brokered convention, and ANYTHING could happen. Any way it turns out, let's enjoy what will be a wild ride.
