"That's no jack-o-lantern!"
I was walking the baby stroller through the Fashion Valley Mall here in San Diego today and walked by a jewelry store which had a big pumpkin in the window. On the pumkin was the most grotesque image of Shrub's face I'd ever seen.

As I was standing there laughing, an African American woman walked by and told her child: "That's no jack-o-lantern! That's a jackass!"

3. OMG! I can't believe you saw that at Fashion Valley!
I will be in San Diego Tuesday. It would be worth a side trip to see and photograph that.

Which store was it? Do you think it will still be there Tuesday?

4. I don't recall the name of the store, but
it was on the second level north of Macy's, on the right side, as you're walking north towards Nordstrom's. I have no idea how long it will be on display, but obviously the store owner has no soft spot in his heart for Shrub. :)

The woman who exclaimed that remark did so so loudly that she attracted a crowd, and they all started gawking at the pumpkin and laughing uproariously.

Lesson: there are a whole lot more Democrats in San Diego now than the pollsters ever imagined in their wildest dreams.

7. Unbelievable there are anti- * people at that high end mall
Honest! I can't afford to shop there at all. I once saw a set of sheets on sale for $600.00.

You almost need to have a BMW or Lexus or Mercedes to feel like you are allowed in the parking lots.

8. Believe it or not,
most of the wealthier people in San Diego, who live in La Jolla, Del Mar, Carmel Valley, Solana Beach, and Rancho Santa Fe are Democrats. Most of the doctors and attorneys, and dentists are as well. It's the engineering and military types who are predominantly Repubs.

The Fashion Valley Mall, although a "high-end" mall, is not all Nordstrom's and Niemann Marcus, however. They have a lot of unusual stores plus some rather ordinary ones as well, and all kinds of people shop there. In fact, I was out rolling around the baby carriage because my wife and mother-in-law were taking advantage of a 50% off sale at Robinson's May. And I drive a Toyota Corolla (well, the LE version, but still a Corolla). Just as well built and sleek looking as any of those other makes of cars you mentioned, just not such a waste of money.

9. In my next life, I'll outfit my house from Restoration Hardware.
I love that store. I've also gotten some good sale items at The Walking Store. And there is nothing better than relaxing in one of those massage chairs at The Sharper Image.

Good to hear that all those people who got the big tax cut are Democrats!

10. Restoration Hardware is one of my favorites too.
As for all the Dems here who got the big tax cuts, I'm one of them, but I gave all my tax cuts first to Howard Dean, then to John Edwards, and most of the rest went to John Kerry and the DNC. The balance went to local charities. Damned if I'm going to take something I neither need, want, nor deserve from some bastard with no sense of fair play and values that are walking backwards.
