Install Firefox, and you don't have to worry about ads, but it's still a good idea to run Spybot regularly.

8. You could also try Opera browser

It is a much smaller download (good for us with slow dialup connections.) I started using it two years ago and it was the best investment I ever made.

No popups and handy mouse gestures. Built in email client and too, too many other great features to list.

I never use IE anymore -- 'course, I never did. It didn't exist when I started using the Internet. Netscape was my browser of choice until it was "broken."

Just choose the "Google ad" when you install it.

However, when I downloaded it and started learning about all its features, I bought it. It is the best software I've ever downloaded, and the only downloaded software I've ever eventually purchased. ('Cause I'm broke too.)
