Greg Palast on WPR ..has a document
I was listening to Jean Ferraca's here on Earth show on Wisconsin Public Radio while replacing window molding and was surprised she had both Greg Palast and John Nichols on the second hour of the show. Just for the record, it was excellent.

But toward the end of the show Palast said that he will be releasing a document this week that will (to paraphrase) reveal the true reasons we are in Iraq.

You can find archives of the show at
or:

Anybody else hear Palast talk about this?

1. No but I do believe
if he says he has a document, he does have one. He's not one to create unwarranted hype. It will be interesting to see what he has.

4. I'm planning on attending
Ed Garvey, John Nichols, and John Stauber (author of Our Media not theirs) are on the agenda.

I think DUer "eyesroll" will be there and her husband who is running for Congress also. I would hope a lot of WI DUers show up. I'd like to meet my fellow co-conspirators!!!

Check out the agenda at:

3. The document referred to...
... I would guess is a 100-page outline created by the State Dept. a few months ago on the complete privatization of Iraq. There was some news of it, perhaps three months ago, but I don't think it was ever put into the Federal Register, just circulated internally in the State Dept.

IIRC, Palast mentioned a month or so ago that he had a copy.

Cheers.

6. It was a WONDERFUL program!
I didn't catch the first 15 minutes or so of it, but I had it on my car radio as I drove home from work. I was so enthralled that once I got home I stayed in my car in the driveway until the end so I wouldn't miss any more.

I do remember Palast making that statement -- but it didn't quite register at the time -- as I recall, he was sort of interrupted by the host who was pursuing a different point, so he really didn't get to finish what he was trying to say. The conversation moved on, I guess my own focus moved on as well...

I'm on Palast's email list, so hopefully I'll get an anouncement when he releases this document.

But, WOW! It was an OUTSTANDING program! I was SOOOOO glad I caught it! I listen to WPR as much as I can, they have some truly outstanding shows! (I live in East-Central Minnesota, just a few miles from the WI border)

9. I miss Jean Ferraca
on weekday mornings. She used to have supurb guests on the show and her interviews were always very insightful.

I also miss Tom Clark on the early morning shows. (I used to be on the road by 6AM most weekday mornings) Tom retired on April 1 of this year.

btw...Minnesota Public radio has some good stuff also. My former job would occassionally take me into Sodie-land also.
