2. Why not Cameron Kerry, brother of the President? |
|
That would give the repugs an instant heart attack.

5. Spitzer, but he'll probably turn it down to run for Governor |
|
They were saying Dennis Archer, former Detroit Mayor - he might be a good choice.
Chances are the pick will be someone most people aren't familiar with.

I don't know enough about him, other than a quick search that revealed he was the first African-American named head of the Bar association, which is impressive for anybody.

6. Actually, I don't want Spitzer as AG... |
|
... because I want to see him run for Governor of NY in 2006. He'd make a great governor, he'd go a long way toward cleaning house in Albany, and he'd set himself up as a MAJOR player on the national stage.
Think long-term, people. Politics is not a sprint every few years. If Spitzer were AG now, he'd be compromising his long-term future. He's a rising star, and is capable of so much more in his career than US Attorney General.

I would much rather have Spitzer as the NY Governor than as AG... he'd likely win in 2006 and would set himself up nicely for President in 2012.

11. Spitzer - far and away the best choice, given the mafia mess we're in |
|
I can't think of anyone else who would be able to clean up the criminals that have been trying to steal our Democracy. There have to be so many indictments, on so many fronts, against all the laws that have been broken in the last few years.
Spitzer makes air-tight cases, and finds all the dirty dealings and all the DIFFERENT laws that are broken in the process.
If he is asked to take the post, I would hope he would do so for the good of the country, even if he has to postpone his run for the governorship. He'd only be governor of one state, when the other 49 states need him right now, as well.
O8) From our lips to Kerry & God's ears!! Eliot Spitzer for Attorney General!! O8)
