I just canceled my subscription to the local paper: endorsed Bush*.
I just placed a call to the paper circulation department, canceled my subscription. They always ask the reason why. And I told the woman answering the call that I could not, in all conscience, read a paper that endorsed Bush* for president. She actually laughed and said "I will make sure they get the message." I don't know what that meant, but she didn't sound upset...

Subscribe to a paper that endorsed Kerry. That way you put your money where it does some good.

8. I personally think its wrong
for any newspaper to endorse either candidate, they should concentrate on reporting news unbiased, not trying to sway elections.

9. Funny thing about such cancellations
On the radio and on TV, I have been hearing quite a bit about this happening, on both sides. And it always gets discussed the same way.

"The (name of city) (Gazette, Press, Herald, etc) has endorsed (candidate) and hundreds of subscribers have been calling in to cancel their susbsciptions in protest."

IF (candidate) = Kerry, THEN reply "This is a good message to send to those liberal elites in the media, and its really the only way that we as a people can stand up to them. We want our news to be unbiased, and nothing sends such a clear, strong message as thousands of cancelled subscriptions all citing the endorsement as a reason. We are right, we are a majority, and its time that the liberal media recognized us."

IF (candidate) = Bush, THEN reply "Now, see, this is just another example of whiny liberal elites complaining when they don't get their way. They take their ball and go home. These people hate free speech so much that they will reject a news source if it recognizes what a majority of this country already knows, that Bush is the right choice for this country. Who cares if ten or fifteen liberal nutjobs call in to cancel because they are so filled with hatred for Bush that they refuse to see the facts. We are right, we are the majority, and its about time that people in the liberal media finally came around and got a feel for the true pulse of America."

That is how it ALWAYS goes.
