Now Reuters is doing it: using "Democrat" instead of "Democratic," even when it results in a rather obvious usage error, as it does here. Kerry challenges Democrats?

Where is this shit coming from, who is reponsible, and what needs to be done to end it?

DemocratIC is the adjective form of the noun Democrat. Their little game to try to disassociate big-D Democratic from little-D democratic (because democratic has good connotations) flies in the face of grammatical rules.
