5. That is the stuuuuuuuuuuupidest commercial
I feel bad she lost her dad but if that isn't exploitation I don't know what is. If he did something to help her I would say OK, a valid commercial. For example he did something for the soldier who lost his arm so that is a valid commercial. But he might as well have a black guy say "George Bush shook my hand" to show how diverse he is--cause giving a girl a hug who lost her dad may be a good thing to have in a commercial but a real dumb thing to have as a commercial.

6. Medieval Americans
(apologies to Society for Creative Anachronism, who just PRETEND to be medieval)

Welcome back to the days when peasants believed in the curative powers of the King's Touch. They're making it to be some kind of transformative Helen Keller/Tommy the Pinball Wizard moment.

I'm surprised they haven"t pulled out Lisa Beamer to do an ad, following those she did back in late 2001,showing what confidence she has in the president who was picking his nose in Crawford and plotting how to smoke out those pesky Democrats and git 'em dead er alive -- rather than paying much attention to those pesky threats of Saudi terrorists who were planning a major attack inside America, who killed her husband.

"Oh! Chookie, blame Al Qaeda, not our beloved president!" The guy who opened the door to them, and the political party who created these monsters I ALSO hold responsible.

7. Bush is the only person in the world who would embrace a person who was in
pain. That is why Bush is such a great man- he has empathy for people. Gag gag gag.

9. Because it is a sick, cynical, manipulative ad
using a young woman's legitimate grief to further a political campaign.

Also, attempts to equate Bush's healing touch with Christ.

10. The difference between Clinton and Shrub
Clinton would have really cared about her. Shrub just wanted the photo op. He doesn't give a shit.

17. the 'mother' is a vile coldhearted True Believer

and that's really why the daughter was such a basket case- for three f$%^&ing years.

That commercial reminds me of how mentally diseased the Right in this country really is,
every single time.
