People are camping out in fromt of their polling place tonight! |
|
This was just on our news in Ga. People say they can't miss a whole day of work tomorrow, so they are camping outside the polling place tonight to be one of the first to vote in the morning!

I have never, ever, ever remembered an election where people slept out to go vote!! NEVER. (And I have been around a long time) This is phenomenal, absolutely amazing.

7. Nor I neither! Never in any election since the first I voted in 1963. |
|
This is really amazing. People don't go to that kind of trouble to keep the "status quo"......I'm feeling the earth moving, and I'm alone at the moment.

8. I've never hear of this before either! |
|
I've only lived in Ga. for 4 years, so I can't speak much for past history, but I've lived in 5 states, and it never happened in any of them before!
I think this is a good sign. I unfortunately know a lot of freepers and I'd bet if someone even suggested that they sleep out in public, in a sleeping bag, just to be able to vote in the morning, they'd tell you that you were just NUTS!
I think this is a good sign for Kerry!

6. That degree of commitment is amazing..... really..... |
|
I certainly hope it makes an impression on those who can't be bothered to acquaint themselves with the issues, and vote.
really.
Wish I could be there and pass out doughnuts or something....... that's great! :toast:
Kanary, who is now convinced we need to have paper ballots and a national holiday for voting!

I've gotta say, I'm feeling pretty smug about Oregon's all vote-by-mail (or drop-off) system! :toast:

coming from the UK, I have to say this, y'all need more polling stations. I never had to line up in the UK for a general election. I just don't get it.

19. we usually have more polling stations |

but they have deliberately opened as few as legally possible hoping to discourage voting.

13. They finally get it! POLITICS IS ABOUT OUR LIVES! WOO HOO! |
|
This is wonderful news. I can hardly believe it.
I'll be at my polling place at 6:30am to get in the door at 7 and I expect there to be an early bird party already going by the time I get there here in the SF Bay area.

People don't wait in line for hours to maintain the status quo.

I thought this day would never arrive. Christmas is going to pale in comparison.

because of that very reason. I'm just donating the money I would have spent to the Red Cross.

I told her, keep dreaming because I bet you there will be a line around the block, (of campers) even at 7am in Pennsylvania!
