As if I need another reason to doubt jerry falwell's "Christianity"
Goddammit, this asshole is every bit as "Christian" as bush.

Thanks to DU's latest Top 10, I found this exchange between the Reverend Jesse Jackson and falwell:
http://cnnstudentnews.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0410/24/le.01.html

JACKSON: I submit to you today that our going to Iraq was a misadventure. It has put America in isolation. We are losing lives, money and losing our character in that war. We deserve better leadership. And we need...

FALWELL: I'd rather be killing them over there than fighting them over here, Jesse. And I think you would...

JACKSON: Let's stop the killing and choose peace. Let's choose negotiation over confrontation.

FALWELL: Well, I'm for that too. But you've got to kill the terrorists before the killing stops. And I'm for the president to chase them all over the world. If it takes 10 years, blow them all away in the name of the Lord.

JACKSON: That does not sound Biblical to me. And that sounds ridiculous.

FALWELL: Well, when they kill my family and blow those towers down -- and right now, who knows between now and November 2? We know what they did in Spain, in Australia. I look for it here. I'd rather be shooting them over there than shooting them over here.

JACKSON: But those killers came from Afghanistan and bin Laden, who have not been pursued. They did not come from Iraq.

FALWELL: I don't care where they came from. We...

JACKSON: Well, it's important that you do know that bin Laden was the issue, not Saddam Hussein. Reverend Falwell, we're on the wrong agenda. Those who killed us came from Afghanistan. Bin Laden is still on the loose.

FALWELL: Well, I think we were already taking Afghanistan down, and we've elected a president there in the last two weeks.

At least I've had some faith in Reverend Jackson reinforced.

2. What a sick fuck
To think he has any kind of influence over someone's spirituality makes me want to puke.

3. I always figured Falwell
would be around smiling it up like the bloated toad he is when the anti-christ was at the wheel.

4. What creeped me out the most
was that Falwell looked and sounded so darned cheerful and upbeat about it. He's insane. I don't like to throw around the mental illness card, but in his case, I looked at him while he was saying these things and wondered if he was a fully functioning human being. Something inside me said, "no!" right away. What a sad, scary little man.

:scared:

5. They will know we are Christians by our love, by our love ...
What a Christian man! Now I remember why I became an atheist.

Falwell states here that there was a terrorist strike in Australia.

Wrong.

There was a terrorist bombing in Bali where Australians were killed. There have been no terrorist strikes in Australia.

Falwell needs to be put out to pasture. His hatred is showing.

6. Randomly bomb in the name of God....
Well gee, I wonder where the Middle East gets the crazy idea that this war is an attack on Islam?? Hmmm...I wonder.
