Feel a bit left out in these Repuke locked states??
I'm here in Kansas so I'm feeling your pain too. But that won't stop me from voting,in fact I'm thinking Kerry might get a higher percentage than Clinton and Gore did in 92,96,2000.

Under a REAL Electoral system Bush would only get about 3.7--3.9 of our 6 votes. Kerry would get 2.1--2.3 instead of ZERO. If they want to keep that system of electing a President then it should be changed to express the will of all voters.

I say do it on a percentage basis and let the chips fall where they will....

1. Just headed out to vote in Wichita.
I REFUSE to be discouraged--too many good people around who are also for Kerry. Hoping the numbers will be substantial enough to send a strong message even if the chimp wins again, but then he never learns, apparently. Where in Kansas are you?

5. Why...Wichita....out on the far west side
My wife went right when they opened at 6. Huh...the parking lot is way to small. She told me when I go to park across the street in a residential area. Big big turnout already.

2. Power to the People
But won't happen for quite a while. I mean when Repeublicans can argue with a straight face that the Electoral college is needed so that good red blooded Americans can keep lily livered blue-blooded city folk in line, well, they are going to fight tooth and nail to keep the electoral college.

3. Reform.................
is definitely needed in the EV process. Either do away with it all together, or have an apportioned EV as you suggested. Hopefully, within the next four years in Kerry's first term, something will be done about it. Would this take a Constitutional Amendment?

4. You in the red states are just as important....
..the mandate of the popular vote will be just as important this time around as who wins the electoral college. Your vote is every bit as important as a blue state one. The closer we can make it, even in those states, the better.

8. More Kerry votes says to the world
We repudiate the weecowboy and his illegal occupation of a sovereign country because he didn't like its ruler/system of government. Kerry needs to be able to show the rest of the world that the weecowboy was an aberration rather than the true face of America.

Voted absentee in the deep South.

As the book says Kansas people LOVE to vote themselves into serfdom. They prove that in November year after year....

12. Voted early in Johnson Co., Kansas, and am hating the electoral
college system today! I am very curious to see how the popular vote turns out this year. The conservatives are very angry and energized, but it seems to me that there's a liberal backlash coming on.

for any Dem running for President here in Wichita. They are literally all over the place so that bodes well for at least a higher percentage.

17. No, not feeling left out.
When Kerry & Edwards win by Electoral Votes AND a massive popular vote spread, we know our voices will be counted as part of the mandate!

-Texan for Kerry!
