When *ush loses today....
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 12:31 PM by William Bloode
what are all the fawning hordes of smitten admirers gonna do?

Seriously many of these people have held him up like god his self, or a saint at the very least. What are they gonna do when he is a confirmed loser like Pappy?

How will someone like Pat Robertson handle it, who said god told him *ush is going to win? Will he question his faith? Will he question his own character?

We all know if he loses(shrub, he's branded an immediate failure by the media. Theres no other way to spin a *ush loss. How can you have a lasting legacy when the good people of America turn out in record numbers to oust you?

I have heard of speculation of a schism in the Republican party, speculation of the decline in their strength for yrs to come.

So how are these enthralled people gonna rectify this in their minds? I figure to see allot of delusional(as if there could be more) thinking, accusations at the press, and i do expect to see a bit of back biting.

Any ideas out there? And i am not really focusing on overall party, but personal reactions of the faithful and deluded.

1. It depends
The Neo Cons and the Religious Right are two different problems. My guess is that the Neo Cons will try to distance themselves from President Bush, while the Religious right will determine this election a reflection of the character of America (we're all going to hell, more or less).

Will there be violence? Probably a little sporadic, but not a huge amount, I wouldn't think. I could be wrong about that, but there isn't a coordinating force to push for violence.

2. At a party last night
I actually had my republican friends telling me that they were voting for Bush because of the good job he has done with terrorism. I can't even begin to tell you how the discussion went. Nice, decent, well educated people thinking that he did a good job. Now, of course, they only get their news from Faux, and were making fun of the dems for getting the mentally ill and homeless to vote. (There was a thread about that yesterday), but nonetheless, it is a little disheartening to hear people say that.
