Two candidates have taken 49 states
Nixon in 1972 (didn't get Mass.) and Reagan in 1984 (didn't get Minn.)

I can't imagine this happening today. It's amazing how the climate can change.

Consider it something for Kerry to shoot for in 2008.

2. Sounds like plan
America has lost its way. I'm hoping for a Kerry era, one that will be looked back upon with nostalgia.

1. Seems shocking to think of the country going all one color.

3. the 1972 Massachusetts electoral votes
Were displayed in the official Massachusetts archives (at the time located in the State House), along with ancient documents such as old royal charters etc. The actual ballots cast were in a display case.

This was at the time the bumper sticker "Don't blame me - I'm from Massachusetts" was popular (because of Watergate).

Nixon's revenge was closing the Charlestown Navy Yard (which is still closed).

Massachusetts - fighting the powerful, as always.

4. Well, you did vote for Reagan in 1984
It's hard to imagine Massachusetts as a red state.
