I Voted Today For the Second Time In My Life!

I left class five minutes early because I wanted to catch the SGA Van to my polling place. I had on my Kerry/Edwards button, and my Kerry/Edwards sticker on my laptop. I looked at the sticker and the button on my blazer, thinking about what the future would entail with them. I also hoped that there would be no more four years of Bush, no more four years of war, no more four years of a high deficit, no more four years of fundamentalism encroaching into my reproductive rights, no more four years of alienating our allies, no more four years of having our civil rights infringed upon, no more four years of worry and fear under the cloud of terrorism, and no more four years of being afraid to voice one's dissent.

When I got to the polling station, the dear old poll workers checked my ID, and gave me a paper ballot. They instructed me on how to vote on my ballot. I rubbed the Kerry/Edwards button underneath my blazer for good luck, and drew a straight black line between the arrow pointing towards "Kerry/Edwards" for presidential candidate. It felt so good to cast my vote. It also felt even better when I thought that I, as an American citizen, had chosen to fire George W. Bush and to hire John F. Kerry as the next President of the United States of America.

I took a photo of my vote that I cast today.

upon reading the whole post he/she was describing one instance of voting, not multiple votes. A young person, (probably, my age and prejudice are showing) who takes this seriously. Good for you!
