Voter Registration in Canada

Improving the quality of the lists of electors and addresses from other sources, including Canada Post Corporation

As a result of continual updates to the Register, it is estimated that more than 95 percent of electors were on the preliminary lists of electors used during the 38th general election, with 83 percent (plus or minus 2 percent) of them at the correct address. This is a marked improvement over the 37th general election (89 percent on the lists and 79 percent at the correct address), and exceeds our list-quality targets (92 percent on the lists with 77 percent at the correct address).
