Just got off the phone with my born-again Christian buddy.
He said he just got bitched out by a fellow "Christian" for voting for Kerry. And he wanted to find out how Kerry's doing according to the exit polls.

I read him the exit poll date on BuzzFlash.com and he was ecstatic. He was especially happy that Pennsylvaina is going for Kerry, he's originally from there.

Even though he's a b.a. he hasn't dropped twenty I.Q. points like so many who find Jesus. He gets a lot of heat from people in his church, Assemblies of God, about his voting Democratic, yet he perseveres.

Even though I'm an atheist I gotta say: "God Bless'em!"

1. Your born-again buddy's closer to Christ by voting Democratic!
Feed the poor.

Teach the children.

Comfort the sick.

Protect the weak.

Sounds like Democratic Principles 101, and Jesus 101, to me.

Your buddy's got some stones to stand up for himself. You should be proud.

2. Yeah why do they get so stupid.
Seriously the two "born-agains" I know are both complete idiots, they seem like they have serious learning disabilites. Go figure.

5. "Born-agains", like Libertarians..
take-on an ideology with admirable goals, but without considering the consequences to those outside their narrow view.

6. Next time
you talk with your buddy, point out how in todays political terms, Jesus would be considered liberal! Therefore, voting for Kerry is more in line with what Jesus may have done, were He here.
All the others, who claim to be Christian but yet support someone who is responsible for the deaths of thousands, are the ones who are confused.....

7. I had a close friend (Brian) who was a 'born again' ...
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 05:22 PM by TahitiNut
... who truly modeled Christian teachings. He was a totally lovable human being whose 'evangelical' impact was just in the way he lived his life. He was one of the highest integrity human beings I've ever met. There's no way in the world he'd have voted for Bush43. He didn't for Bush41 and he avoided any association with the knuckle-draggers - other than grieving for their lost souls. Hell, I actually had to ask him about his beliefs - he didn't trot them out like some sandwich board. He never had a problem praying in school or on the job - since he felt his communication with God was unassailable.
