"Dont Stop Thinking About Tomorrow" Remember the feeling you got
in 1992 when that song played when the Big Dog won? It made me cry with hope and joy after 12 years of Reagan/Bush hell.
What a great memory.

1. Remember that one well...
I also remember turning to the "700 club" and watching Pat praying like he was going to hell. I hope I see that again tonight.

2. DON'T STOP - the lyrics!
no parody needed for this one! now, where's that damn CD?????

DON'T STOP

If you wake up and don't want to smile,
If it takes just a little while,
Open your eyes and look at the day,
You'll see things in a different way.

Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow,
Don't stop, it'll soon be here,
It'll be, better than before,
Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone.

Why not think about times to come,
And not about the things that you've done,
If your life was bad to you,
Just think what tomorrow will do.

Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow,
Don't stop, it'll soon be here,
It'll be, better than before,
Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone.

All I want is to see you smile,
If it takes just a little while,
I know you don't believe that it's true,
I never meant any harm to you.

Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow,
Don't stop, it'll soon be here,
It'll be, better than before,
Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone.

Don't you look back,
Don't you look back.

3. I went to Little Rock the night he won...
(at least I think it was that night)

We stood in the cold for forty-five minutes waiting for him and Hillary and Gore and Tipper... and that song was playing. For the first time I'd voted for someone who WON!!!!

It was so great!!

And we were right -- those were SUCH good years, especially in retrospect.

5. You know what affected me more than anything after he got elected?
When he & Hillary were receiving thousands of citizens in the White House. The line of people seemed endless. People were overjoyed to meet them, & I just sat there crying with joy.

It seems the Democratic presidents are the only ones who are aware that the White House belongs to the people. The Republicans see it as their own status symbol, enjoying all the regalia that goes with it.

7. LMAO - Landslide - Can also play the Dixie Chicks version
Which is Cheneyin appropriate!

Always loved Fleetwood Mac. Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow and Springsteen's No Retreat No Surrender have some special meaning now. Plus I'm going to have to get Eminem's Mosh. Gotta get that video too.

8. It's a Beautiful Day
Edited on Tue Nov-02-04 06:09 PM by AZDemDist6
don't know the artist, but I hear it at every Kerry appearance

thanks to my fellow DUer-- here's the lyrics

The heart is a bloom
Shoots up through the stony ground
There's no room
No space to rent in this town

You're out of luck
And the reason that you had to care
The traffic is stuck
And you're not moving anywhere

You thought you'd found a friend
To take you out of this place
Someone you could lend a hand
In return for grace

It's a beautiful day
Sky falls, you feel like
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away

You're on the road
But you've got no destination
You're in the mud
In the maze of her imagination

You love this town
Even if that doesn't ring true
You've been all over
And it's been all over you

It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
It's a beautiful day

Touch me
Take me to that other place
Teach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case

See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the Bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
And see the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colors came out

It was a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
Beautiful day

Touch me
Take me to that other place
Reach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case

What you don't have you don't need it now
What you don't know you can feel it somehow
What you don't have you don't need it now
Don't need it now
Was a beautiful day

10. For me, it's "These Are Days" by 10,000 Maniacs
Reminds me of the first Bubba win. It's been going through my head a lot lately...:)
