2. My 17 year old has been afraid... |
|
of what my reaction would be if the worst happened. She has been telling me that if Bush 'won', she would not be coming home. I feel bad for that. I told her last night it would be okay, no matter what happens, and to please come home. She thinks I was overreacting regarding a possible draft. I hope to hell she is right.
I feel especially bad for my 14 year old, politically aware nephew. Before the fiasco, I was talking on the phone with him last night. He told me, 'Auntie, I will be 18 during a second Bush term.' It breaks my heart thinking about this now. He has been so involved in this election.

3. I'm honestly considering remaining childless. |

This is not the kind of society I want to raise a child in.

4. It's not (necessarily) the hormones... I'm in tears for my kids too... |
|
and the military families... and the additional kids who will slip into poverty... and the innocent civilians in Iraq who are dying and wounded... for this country's disenfranchised... I could go on and on of course...
Whatever the result of this election, I'm just dumbfounded that so many complete idiots would vote for *. That's one of the saddest things of all.

5. As I posted on another thread... |
|
I was depressed this morning but holding it together until my 5 year old son came down and crawled into my lap. He asked, "Who won?" He knew how hard I had been working on this campaign.
He was hugging me, and I just started to sob. I feel so terrible for him growing up in this dictatorship. I thought I couldn't feel worse than I did in 2000, but apparently, I can.
