1. I think trade is a farce. |
|
If I understand it correctly, roughly half of the trade we do is actually inter-company trades. For example, if Ford takes a part, ships it to thier factory in Mexico to have work done, then it gets shipped back, that is considered trade.
If the trend of internationalizing our jobs continues in this fashion, we will be vulnerable to third world conditions in this, the richest country in the world.

6. No wonder I can't find any products "made in the USA" anymore. |
|
I haven't needed depleted Uranium or military weapons in a few years.
The best thing we can do for ourselves is to learn to live on as little as possible.
The time is coming when that will be the reality. Travel light during this downward spiral.

5. Entertainment is No. 1 US export. |
|
Entertainment is also the big business really supporting Arnold, by the way. (They want him to make CA really friendly to really big business, middle class be damned.)

... but Linux is going to undermine that.
Oh, and weapons, which ironically, often get pointed at us later.

19. Linux is good for the US and for the rest of the world |

Linux will unite the world and free ordinary people to make a living. No problem there.
Micro$oft will work hand in hand with Bush to make the world hate our guts.

Under the auspices of a rather rosy word called "Globalization", which is also trumped up further by outright lying by saying "We export democracy".:eyes:

11. the knowledge to build advanced infrastructure |
|
once water, electricity, telecomunications and transportation requirments are met, then it is easy to shift manufacturing to such places.
unfortunately the US has done this not so much to help the "natives" but originally to buttress countries susceptable to communist infiltration. now such infrastructure is capable of sustaining manufacturing and services once found only in the West.
it happened first in post-war japan, then south korea, then in central america and more recently in pakistan and india.

Yes, Americans and Canadians, watch your forests disappearing and shipped overseas. Watch the erosion and pollution that will follow.
