For the love of Democracy
I must accept that the electorate has spoken and support their choice. I would want the same from the other side if the tables were turned. * is our choice as a nation like him or not, but it would be undemocratic of me to not accept this decision. This is easier than 2000 when clearly the majority of voters did not want him in office.

That doesn't mean I won't speak up and say that not only are we on the wrong track we are on a sinking ship and for some reason the majority of the electorate is screaming for more water.

I've said all I can say. It's each person's choice if they want to believe the ship is sinking or not. That's what democracy is. As a citizen I have to stand by the decision of the electorate. I will not undermine it. However, I must jump ship.

Democracy is for adults and as democratic adults we accept the consequences of our decisions. I think the consequences are dismal, but the American electorate has to have the free choice to make this decision and must embrace it's outcome as it is theirs. As I've said, I'm jumping ship.

I have the luxury of a little time to plan as I live in a blue state, but eventually I will cease to be an American. I am as saddened by this as I am excited about finding a new adventure.

I wish you only the best. It's been a rough 4 years and I wouldn't have survived if it hadn't been for DU. I hope I gave back half of what I took. Thank you Skinner for all your support and efforts.

I need to step away from the computer and turn off the TV and regroup.

Wishing you peace and happiness,
GinaMaria
