Mandate for what???? Fuck that!
Ask this (to yourself at least) when any of the right-wing nutbag talking heads mentions that fucking word. What proposals did chimp-gimp stake his campaign on that he could possibly construe into claims of a mandate? What did he offer, in terms of policy? NADA! His whole god-damned effort was based on shitball smears of Kerry.

I'm sure i'm not alone in thinking that Chimpy and his sick-fuck cabal will seriously overreach in pushing an aggressively right wing agenda. This will not sit well, and will not work, people! Hate to make the comparison but think Clinton 1993. We will see a serious backlash, beginning to bear fruit in the mid-terms. People will say, "this is NOT what we expected!" Guaranteed.

Little consolation right now ... sure. But buck up, fellow Dems, and let's fucking fight this bastard hardcore as he tries to screw with our country. He will be on defense soon enough!

2. Good point, but...
...the mid-terms will not win themselves. We have to get out there now and start making things happen. The Dems need stronger candidates and a solid infrastructure or we'll get rolled again.

3. Bush don't need no stinking mandate! He can do whatever the fuck he wants
He didn't listen to anybody before this election. Why in the fuck should he listen now. He has even greater control of the House the Senate and most of the governorship in this country and he will be able to shape the Supreme Court in a few months to never opposed or reserve any decision he makes or convict of any crime he commits. Fuck a mandate he's on top of the world baby!!!!!

15. OK -- I can see the logic in that
bushie has NEVER had to clean up his own mess before.

But in the meantime the bastard is going to make a whole lot more messes.

Welcome to DU!

10. they've already acted as if they had a mandate
This new speak of "mandate" means push the radical agenda harder. Steamroll. And it'll backfire on them.

14. Right now, What's keeping me going is the thought of 2006 backlash
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 08:36 PM by lolamio
I am convinced, sadly, that things are only going to deterioriate further in Iraq, and there will come a point where Bush et al will be held accountable for the mess they've made. It may not have happened in this election, but give it time. If I were a Republican Congressman right now, I'd be looking over my shoulder and watching my ass.

16. America HAS given Chimp a mandate to keep fucking up
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 09:12 PM by npincus
that is what the popular vote means. And why I am so horrified and really, really down.

Apparantly, a majority of voters are pleased with how he's fucked up the world, lied his ass off, killed tens of thousands and would like to see 4 more years of immorality and death. That is another reason why I am so depressed; before it was always "well, he never had a mandate to take the country so far to the right" now, he has a fucking mandate because Americans did not use their vote to repudiate his policies. Instead they endorsed him by returning him to the White House.

I really HATE half of this country. Sorry, but I do.
