he has 'em, from hard work. the locals saw 'em, because he hit every small town in the area and knew the people there. he was one of them. he beat the liberal tag.
plus coors is an asswipe

that Coors Corp wasn't exactly selling family values with their "Twins" ads. Also, they didn't have a pristine record on the environment as they were trying to sell and give credit to Peter Coors.
I think another aspect was that although Salazar was a DA, he also had roots in the farming/ranching business, and he was one of a dozen kids (I don't remember how many). My understanding is that they all went to college, and were the first generation in their parents family to do so. So appreciation of work ethic helped.
Those were some things I heard on PBS.

I'm from Massachusetts but living in Denver. I can tell conservative Dems from liberal ones a mile off.
For example, Salazar is pro-death penalty. :puke:
on edit: Not that he isn't waaaay preferable to Coors, don't get me wrong! I just hate the death penalty.
