Dear Conservatives and Republicans:
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 08:55 PM by Mortos
You have won. Congratulations. There is something you should know about what happened. You just Pottery Barned America. You broke it, now you own it. America is in your hands now. No excuses. No blaming the other side. No avoiding responsibility. It is all yours.

What I want to know is, how are you going to fix it?

Whatcha gonna do about Iraq? And the deficits? And social security? And health care costs? And increased government control? And corporate irresponsibility? And the environment? And fuel prices? And the ever widening gap between rich and poor.

Will you hold this President responsible for his mistakes now? Or will you give him a free pass like you have for the last 4 years?

Will you demand investigations into Plamegate, Medigate, WMD Failures, Energygate and all of the new scandals that will pop up now that Bush is all powerful (or will we ever even know about them now?).

There is an old axiom; Be careful what you ask for, you might get it. Well you wanted it, now you got it.

There is a sadistic part of me that wants to stand by and watch as it all comes tumbling down around your smug, self satisfied, ignorant complacency and then laugh as I say, "Told ya so," but I love this country too much to be happy about what is coming.

Gloat, taunt and enjoy your day in the sun. I don't think the arrogance will last long.

Bush may have won but America lost and so did you, you just don't know it yet.

3. My husband and I just had this same conversation
this evening - almost verbatim. I told him that I was going to greet any Republican friends who dared bring up the subject with the old "Be careful what you wish for..." response.

They cannot make any excuses any longer, they will have to take responsibility for their mess within 4 years.

6. Here is where we can begin the blame game
From here on in, everything that goes wrong, from Iraq to the economy will be on the head of their chosen messiah, W. I think that is why there is little gloating among conservatives. In 4 years, any democrat will be able to askthe question.are you better off now than you were 4 years ago, and conservatives will no longer have Bill Clinton to blame. From here on in its a conservative president, a conservative comgress, that will be totally accountable for every problem the average American has. It will be more than enough to turn the tide in 2006 or 2008.

8. Many of these people
should not have voted. I doubt they have even heard of the matters you mentioned.

According to Bill Bryson, the author, "This is a country where 11 per cent of young adults can't locate the Pacific Ocean on a map, where nearly half of all adults and a quarter of university graduates believe that Earth was created in seven days, by God, sometime in the past 10,000 years, and where 20 per cent of adults evidently believe that Saddam Hussein not only had weapons of mass destruction but used them on us."

"It is often remarked how worrying it is that half the people don't vote. I think I should find it rather more worrying if they did."

9. That is exactly what I told my husband to tell the freepers
at work today. When they gloated about the chimp winning. I told to him say this and walk away, "Be careful what you wish for!" 'nuff said!
