You want the White House, make it about healthcare for all.
Businesses are tired of footing astronomical premiums. Americans are tired of healthcare anxiety. 50% of personal bankruptcies are caused by healthcare crises, and over 135 million people are at great financial risk.

The CEOs of Ford, Chrysler, and GM have all said publicly that they intend to build more plants in Canada because of their healthcare system--Canada's healthcare is a competitive business advantage. Fo rus, it's the millstone around our necks.

Republican and Democratic businesspeople alike are tired of this system. We hate the insurance industry, which has raised premiums 30% year over year, killing our ability to hire more people, while 25% of businesses provide no health coverage at all.

Who among us deserves financial ruin? Who among us does not deserver healthcare? Healthcare--health security--should be part of the dialtone of our country's infrastructure.

EVERYBODY IN, NOBODY OUT

2. I don't think so.
They have a way of killing the idea every time. They scare the common man, who doesn't even have health insurance, that they will be controlled by a government run plan. It will be 20 more years before this is taken seriously.

4. No. They key is businesspeople
Business owners--Republican business owners--are getting creamed by the insurance industry. We can win this one. There are great legislative strides being made in Maine, Massachusettes, Illinois, Kentucky, and California.

We can win this one.

6. I like the idea, however many republican business owners
simply don't provide any insurance and so don't pay anything now.
Don't kid yourself, business people really don't give 2 shits about insuring their workers.

7. yes they do
A healthy workforce is good business. I spoke with many Republican business people and they WANT relief AND they want healthcare for their employees.

Don't use such a broad brush. This is a national, nonpartisan crisis.

8. I would love to share your optimism
However, I have never seen any evidence of the altruism that you speak of. Perhaps this was true in the days of a tight labor market, but not now.

5. Fight them on the economics of healthcare
it's a long, tough battle. but we can get there. Harris Wofford won on Healthcare and it's only gotten worse since then.
