Now that Daschle's out? Just wonderin'. It sure would put a bee in Bush's bonnet.

I pick up way too much information on here, and it all just melds together.

30. I totally understand
The only reason I know him is because I am mormon and so is he.

I did a quick search to see where he stands on abortion. The only thing I found was that he is pro-choice, but voted against partial birth abortion. I am not sure if this is accurate, but it is all I have found so far. He is a moderate Democrat for sure.

3. It is the first thought I had when Daschle was officially gone and Kerry
was headed back to the Senate. Not sure if it's a good idea, but he does have stature there now.

4. I like it
I had been thinking about that today and I'm glad to hear other people are thinking it, I think it would be good for democrats because Kerry is known and people could like seeing him in a leadership role.

Biden enjoys robust political combat more, though. And by jove, we need a FIGHTER this time around!

Kerry's a bit too moderate and conciliatory for that position, I think. His name recognition is cool and all, but any fighter who slings mud 24/7 would make a name for him/herself pretty damn fast in that spot anyway.

8. I'd be ok with it, but I doubt he'd take it
even if it were offered. Unfortunately, his colleagues will probably associate him with "loser" and won't offer it. But I doubt he'd want it. He's never shown interest in a congressional leadership role. I think he has a future in politics, but it's in the lone-wolf role he's always filled. If he stays in the Senate long enough, he could wind up as Foreign Relations Committee Chairman. And I can see him being a future Secretary of State in a future Democratic administration.

10. I don't think he wants that role but now I think he is free to follow his
heart and mind, and nail Bush's ass to the wall when he f@#ks up.

I do think when you are going to run for Prez someday, you end up being more cautious. He is free now. He can easily get re-elected in 4 years to the Senate if he wants.

I'm glad he will still have a role - as big as he wants to make it - within the Senate and Democratic Party.

32. Robert Byrd is a bad choice
I know he's independent and gutsy, but I just can't get past the fact that he was in the KKK at one time. We did not want Trent Lott in a leadership role.
