Democrats Sweep Oregon!!!
(cross-posted from State & Country)

Despite all the general gnashing of teeth, things look pretty good in Oregon.

We sweep all the statewide races (US Senate, Sec of State, Attorney General, Treasurer).

We take the State Senate with a 6-seat lead and are within shouting distance in the House. We already have the Gov.

Washington County goes Blue!!! Galizio in HD 35 pickup, overcomes severe VRWC negative campaign for a long-time Republican seat. Wu crushes Ameri.

Gotta be some good stuff in there somewhere. If we take the State, we can keep the Bushite barbarians at bay for a while.

(Add); this is how we take the country back. Start at the state and local level. Check out how many Dean Dozen candidates won.

We hit this county HARD. We crushed them. It really works. This is a slightly Repuke county. Not today!!! This effort was thrown together in less than six months. IMAGINE if we organize over the long-term.

The places we lose are places with a weak Democratic organization. We gotta work on it.

Oregon just barely went for Gore in 2000. We're lookin' pretty good now!

Cheers!

1. Yeah!
Some of the pre-election polling had me worried. Oregon is one of my favourite states -- my mom, from BC, went to school in Portland.

3. Pennsylvania also went more Democratic
Not quite as much as Oregon, but every little bit counts.

And I am not very upset about Specter hanging on. He will be a thorn in the side of the Jeebus-simple in the Senate. Granted, he votes with Bush about 80-90% of the time, but he will hold the line on things like Roe v Wade and stem cells. We can always deep-six him in 2010 if he doesn't croak first.

No, my sights are on Sick Rantorum in '06.

Mourn for a week or so. Then organize. That's my plan.

9. That's GREAT to hear!
My retired fundy preacher, chimp loving, idiot father n law lives in Medford. I hope this news helps him to love his MANY DEMOCRATIC nieghbers. (I know I drive him nuts, but he claims to pray for me to see the light) (The only light I ever heard of was the one NOT @ the end of the tunnel as MacNamara claimed in'67 just before the tet offensive)

5. Looks good
I want to move to Oregon after I complete my undergrad. I feel that Oregon may be an up-and-coming liberal bastion out west. Now if we can only clean up their economic troubles (really high unemployment) and fight the gay marriage ban. I think Gov. Kulongoski is opposed to it, so we've got quite a few allies.

10. Eat Sh*t , Eddie Yost.
I go 40 and 140 and 240 miles out of Portland all the time. I knock on Republican doors. I work with Republican contractors. I drink beer with them.

Eat my Sh*t, whiny little freeper. God, you people are pathetic.
