There is no rightwing shift happening in this country....
This is the same country it was a week ago.

The country has been shifting LEFT for as long as we've been waking
up from our post 9/11 trance. This election will not stop that.

And the media is still TOTALLY CONTROLLED by the right. If that were not
the case, if people could hear the truth, things would be very different.

1. Exactly, we have the momentum, just not in time for this election.
We just need to keep plugging away and it will come.

2. With the black box and other voting problems....
plus the media, the fact that we came so close is fairly remarkable.

4. I agree...
I've always thought, that the DEMS don't fight to win, but rather fight to keep from losing...

5. Very good point
Plus they completely exploited 9/11 something that they said they would never do. The Republicans are despicable.

6. The elections were all close and
progressives win every battle in the end. We pulled down the robber barons at the turn of the century. We won the civil rights movement and kicked the dixiecrats out of our party. We have made great strides in the environmental movement to the point where the pugs have to at least talk pretty about the issue.

I know we will win in the end. I just worry about what will happen until then.

8. Don't believe the same old spin....

Don't forget things like the unpresidented number of newspapers who
endorsed Kerry (and the New Yorker, who never endorse!) and the
amazing number of honorable Conservatives who publically spoke out
against Bush. As far as I know there has never been anything like it!

Since the first election of Reagan in 1980, whenever the Republicans win
they declare it to be a huge mandate, a revolution! Horse pucky. They
barely won most of there victories this time, just like they barely won
in 2000. (or didn't win!)

As I said on another post, I wish I had a buck for everytime these people
have promised their followers that they are thisclose to overturning
Roe v Wade. They've been using that carrot on a stick for over 20
years now.

9. I agree...
The votes were stolen. Period. I still believe there are more of us than them.
