Not my fucking problem anymore.
The Republicans own whatever happens now. They cannot blame Bill Clinton, they cannot blame Al Gore, they cannot blame John Kerry for the shit that happens. It is not my problem as a Democrat for what happens now. They are the ones who will suffer the consequences for what they do. And suffer they will. They cannot blame anyone but themselves. Anybody whines to me, I will just say that it ain't my problem. You helped create the problem. I had nothing to do with it. I tried to stop it. Twice. Once in 2000 and once in 2004. But you guys own the problems now. Hope you don't collapse under the enormity of them. This is my response to the Republicans. C-ya fuckers.

2. One problem with that
The problems they create affect us ALL. And they might decide to make problems reminiscient of Japanese Internment for liberals, Pagans, Muslims, homosexuals, and anyone else who they deem to be a threat.

Exactly how I feel. Kinda liberating in a nihlistic way. Too bad I've got kids I care about.

Pop some pop corn, pour yourself a beverage. If we live though it, this is gonna be one helluva show to watch. Iraq will continue to unravel. THe economy will continue to remain stagnant like pond water. They will begin fighting with themselves. And who knows, there may be a good scandal or two. Even Raygun had a good scandal and Bush, despite what happened last night, isn't anywhere near as scandal proof as Raygun. It will be delicious.

Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 12:55 AM by RummyTheDummy
They control everything now. The congress, the white house and the supreme court. There's no more blaming it on Clinton and it will become increasingly difficult to blame it on the dems in congress because they're a fucking endangered species.

16. But MM's point remains valid...
It may not be our fault, but there's no way (unless you're among the ultra-rich) that you won't suffer the consequences of the next four years just as much as the red-state fundies will...if not more.

13. There will be a day of economic reckoning in the next four years
that unfortunately will affect all of us. I don't know what is going to hit first the housing market or the euro Chinese debt thing perhaps someone with more knowledge can enlighten me. The war in Iraq is a complete quagmire. Social security privitization will be a huge disaster if they get it through. I read he plans to hit the ground running with that mess in January. On some level I agree with you though, I do feel that I am no longer responsible for whatever happens. I did my absolute best to prevent this disaster and that was all I could do. I am going to live my life without regret and not give Bush or his supporters any of my energy. They are on their own.

14. Some thoughts
Sadly, there is no statute of limitation on "Blame Clinton". It will be dragged out with increasing absurdly for years. FASCINATING that good times under Clinton were the delayed results of the Reagan Bush years, whereas the nosedive of the smirky adminstration is said to be Clinton's policies coming into effect. Hell -- I bet they're even training economists at Liberty University to expound this model.

I did a lot of canvassing. The Undecideds were interesting -- they hated everything Bush had done, but were hung up on the abortion issue. Others had the misperception that Kerry was going to immediately pull out of Iraq, which they thought was wrong considering we had destabilized their country. I would conclude these exchanges by saying, "No matter who is elected, please, if you feel so strongly about these other matters (war, capital punishment, economy, etc) please please please let ALL Americans hold their feet to the fire." I know they are hypnotized to a certain extent, but they are not totally lost to sanity.

I have not preached to Bush supporters among my circle of friends since 2000 to decry their folly -- we had open discussions, and they ALL came around of their own accord to see that this creep was lying to them, and were especially appalled by his leading the US into a war using deceitful means. The only reason I mention that is that it is not such a bad idea to keep an open line of communication to the sane....

As for the stupidos -- I may remind them that their priorities were totally fucked up and that they had to accept the consequences of their vote.

Then there are the hardcore fascists and religiously insane -- they are hopelessly lost. I have no respect for them. Their religious beliefs and political are laughable, and they will get only ridicule from me. There is no accommodation with them -- we can only strive to finally and utterly discredit them and send them back to the middle ages where they belong. I fear THEM far more than I do Al Qaeda; they are infinitely more dangerous. Funny thing -- they operate on completely different assumptions about the world -- the paranoid bullying fascists MUST have enemies in order to justify their existance, whereas the religiously insane will never hold Bush to any level of accountability, because any fuck up on his part will be seen as yet one more sign from on high that the Rapture is near.

Fuck these medieval freaks!

I am going to say something very very very very very very mean -- although Fahrenheit 911 made a excellent point about how poor young kids are seduced into the military because they have no other options, it is the rock and coyote red states that support the wars and supply the cannon fodder in the form of their flesh and blood. It seems to be bred in the bone in the South! So, while their fun and games fighting Armageddon for His Chimperial Majesty might be bleeding the economic life of we bluestaters who reject imperial wars, it is their young people who will do the actual bleeding and dying. They never seem to tire of it. Personally, I'd love to see that kind of bravery and loyalty used judiously -- not recklessly -- but that's up to another young John Kerry to talk truth to power and decry the idiocy of this war that is only making things worse. But Mr Rove has been thinking long term -- they've made it clear that veterans will only be honored if they think the right way, as they are told to think, but that they will be ridiculed, mocked and accused if they dare report that this war isn't the best thing since sliced bread.

20. We will all suffer for their short sidedness and their self serving
self absorbed self righteous choice! While it won't be our problem and not our mess, we will suffer right along side them.
