I was feeling powerful again...now feeling shaky. just scanned CNN
MSNBC, FoxNews to see what the aftermath of the concession speech, etc. was.

It is disturbing. DIsturbing to see my world so thoroughly rocked and still see the vacuous fake-smiling early morning talking heads pitter pattering about everything and acting like Bush won...end of story. They foreshadow ominous things when they discuss BUsh's great mandate. THe really scary thing was FOxNews and NeilCavuto program bashing, bashing, bashing exit polls. "WHO NEEDS 'EM" they say. Well, for one thing....we had this grand Idea we were gonna check results against exit polls and see if there was anything fishy. Well, we did jack shit and they more than likely stole the election. Now they want to make it that much easier for all elections to come by having no audit whatsoever by getting the pressure on to outlaw exit polling. THink of that.

In other news...the rest of the world has to deal with 4 more years of Bush so maybe they better reappraise their positions w/USA and get to know USA better. Obviously, they don't know what really makes us tick based on these elections and Bush ain't going away...so look for Bush to demand they start seeing things his way or else.

THere was also this guy on Neil Cavuto before the whole "exit polling" discussion. He's apparently some android from WABC and was just sickening in his stomping on the will of over 50 million AMericans. HE was saying BYE BYE TOM DASCHLE and saying the tone won't change in Washington. and that reaching across party lines is impossible. WHY? Because Bush was so treacherous and a complete prick during term one? NOOOO. Because Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton are loudmouth liberals who will scream and cry for everything and what they deserve is a reach across the aisle for a big slap.

I shouldn't be stunned, but I am. THey really are going in for the kill in this next 4 years. This is going to be a massive bloodletting.

I really don't know how to face up to this and I wonder how I can move forward and survive.

2. They make no secret
Top Republicans make no secret of wanting this to be a one party state... so, we should not be surprised at outing covert operatives for political purposes (Plame, Khan); pro RW voting machines; etc, etc.

4. State legislatures in all red states will be eliminating any references
to "recounts" in their laws.. Mark my words..

just as jebbie pulled the blinds on the "sunshine laws" that Florida once had, the republican controlled legislatures will be "taking care" of that pesky recount rule (if they have one)..

Vapor is impossible to count anyway, only without the laws, they cannot even be challenged in court over the LACK of a recount..

35. Not Only The Fundies
In Ohio it was the eldery and white evangelicals that helped to put Bush back into the WH.

So those who will suffer voted against their own interests, in terms of the 60 and over crowd, as for the evangelical vote, that shows that it isn't just the fundies.

Now I'm not a big fan of fundies, but all who voted for Bush are to be blamed.

So for those of you in Ohio, the next time an elderly person complains about the cost of healthcare or prescription medicine, ask them "did you vote for Bush", if they say yes, look them straight in the eye and tell them "it's your fault". Do the it if you hear an evangelist complain, and if they say yes, tell them "it's your fault".

We all need to do this, especially when we know the person voted for Bush.

I know I will.

wow. are they in for a big surprise. you know what? I see a day when some of them run afoul of this newfound theocracy/fascist state. they will be like sheep to the slaughter wondering why big brutha GOP isn't protecting their hides since they done voted them in.

this will also occur when they see their business fail, their house get foreclosed on, their job disappear to be replaced by a shit wage service sector job. hooo boy. talk about values.

8. YES!!!! I tell my noncorporate not so rich republican friends this all
the time. All you have to do is open your eyes and SEE with them not just look on. You will find that the republicans care about and are in office to do the business of Big Business. Whatever bill they pass is going to have enough in it through words to make you think you are benefiting from it. But the reality will always be that they given Big Business what they want at your expense. The tent doesn't include you Mr and Mrs average American Republican.

12. This is exactly what it's going to take.....
Their "elation" will wear off when they have to go back to their drudgery jobs, if they have a job, and the economy gets worse and their sons and daughters get killed for their wars. I want it to get worse. That's what it'll take for these uneducated people who voted for him to see that he is not their friend. They think bush gives a shit about them and their little lives? How pathetic is that?

32. It already occurred and didn't make a damn bit of difference.
The red states have already seen their businesses fail, their motgages foreclosed, and their jobs shipped off to China to be replaced by a career as a Walmart greeter. And they couldn't be more eager to vote for Bush. Why? Because if they didn't, gay people might get married.

For such a homophobic bunch of folks, they sure are eager to take it good and hard, right up the ass.

As I said, I did it to get a sense of what is being doled out to the masses and was extremely shocked.

I watched the Day after Tomorrow last night. It almost gave me hope. I was just glad that I didn't watch the News Shows. I am done with all news programs except the Daily Show. I can laugh a little about the pathetic situation.

23. I watched Spartacus. junior was Cesar and we were the slaves
fighting for freedom and truth. Spartacus defeated Roman armies in southern Italy, but his forces were crushed at Lucania , where Spartacus was killed and many of his troops were crucified.

I think junior got some of his speeches from this film, because they talked about terror and either your with us or against us. Lots and lots of similarities.

We only watch "The Daily Show" and Weather Channel for our forecasts.
It's simply not worth it. You haven't gotten the truth for 4 years, what makes you think you will find it now? Sorry, I do not mean to be cruel, but one must adjust to the fascist state. If not one brave media moron came forward the last 4 to set things straight, what makes anyone think they will do so now?

18. You make a great point about the exit polls, bransonfu.
Isn't it convenient about how "wrong" they were--especially in light of SoCalDemocrat's findings (so far) about how the audit-able voting machine results closely correlate with exit polls?

He/She also points out that the machines which leave no audit trails show results about five per cent higher for bu$h than the exit polls.

If somebody wanted to totally discredit exit polling--to make sure that it's never even considered again--wouldn't what just happened be exactly the way to do it?

Cheers,
:freak:

it came from the WH as a bullet point to cover. So...the anxiousness with which they were jumping all over this and making unconditional points like: "Exit polls should be dumped"

Find it funny one of the guys on there was described as an EX-DEM Pollster. Go to hell, exdem pollster. Probably a reason they fired your ass.

30. Watch the financial news networks
They can't help but gloat and slip up every now and then. According to them Diebold is the most promising company around what with the success of the recent election and the presidency in their hip pocket and look at Halliburton's fortunes continue to rise.

I like to watch the gleeful bastards. This election had nothing to do with morals. NOTHING!

33. Eliminate these "news" channels
You can do this if you have DirecTV and probably if you have Dish TV too.

I already eliminated Fox a long time ago from my channel selection, now I'm going to get rid of CNN and MSNBC. I just do not want to see them anymore. I can't stand to look at them, they make me feel ill.

I'll watch NWI and the news from Canada the BBC and other parts of the world and when INdTV (Gore's new channel) starts up I'll watch that for news.

CNN, FOX and MSNBC advertisers can say goodbye to my families dollars. I suggest everyone else do the same. I don't give a shit about anything they say or do, they do not represent me.

36. It makes no sense to watch it even
I never plan to see any of those a-hole's faces again. I turned it off in disgust when the Iraq war started because they acted so cheer-leader-like and immature and clueless about how serious war is.

I didn't miss anything, because it's like you watch the TV "news" and you feel confused, then you start reading different viewpoints on the internet and a more accurate picture of what's actually going on starts to emerge.

I decided yesterday I never want to see one more second of propaganda. We just need a few people like mediamatters.org, to watch it for us and report on what they say, and the rest of us can keep our minds clear and find out what reality is.

Look for many many people in the press to stop worrying so much about "access." There will be many "naked emperor" stories. Remember all those issues they were frantically putting off until after the election? Thise will all come home to roost.
