Anyone watching Washington Journal this morning?
Dear fucking God Bush voters are stupid.

"I read mah Bable and aw thank bush is a godly mahn with morals and hes uh winnin the war in iraq and he has ah mandate."

Clueless. Just unbelievably clueless. And if the callers were representative of the voters, yep this was about "morals". Nearly all of them started out with "Im a Christian for President Bush..."

We never stood a chance against such idiocy.

I had such hopes for change ... even my four year peace time army veteran son changed his registration from republican to democrat and I had the immense pleasure of accompanying him to the polling place tuesday afternoon to cast his vote for kerry... we were so hopeful...
the whole thing just hurts.

This article published in alternet helps me ... maybe it will help you and others too. here is the link:

3. I tried so hard to get through.. no luck today..

If c-span was smart, they would have open phones ALL DAY for days on end.. It would be a useful safety valve, and the tapes would make interesting listening for Bush.:)

Give every caller 45 sec-1 min..and NO REPUBES gloating.. Just calls from the democrats..

___________

I wanted to tell them that he Does have a mandate..several , actually...

a mandate from ignorant, racist bible thumpers..and I hope each and every one of them ends up sending a family member to the front lines..

a mandate from republican owned/manufactured e-voting machines

and how I hope that Sinclair makes a movie of his mandate.. "Stolen Mandate..Devastated Futures"...

and how his followers reminded me of rapists who tell the victims to "relax..enjoy it.. get over it.."

And how he has a mandate waiting for him in his own private wing in HELL..

4. They are for perpetual war.

It would seen that they are Old Testament not New Testament Xians. I wonder what MLK jr would think of the state of the nation today?

I'm appalled by the fundy wingnut woman from Charlotte, NC who just called in to Washington Journal. She said "...sorry about troops who've died...I'm a Christian...I believe in George Bush...the bible talks about wars...there is no way that there will not be wars...Bush is good for America..."

edit: Some guy just called in. he voted for * because of abortion and gay rights. He doesn't want the issues pushed down his throat. He said * should stack the court with right-wing judges.
He does not believe in compromise.

5. Personally
I think that representative self-government has failed. Americans simply aren't up to the task. The responsibility for self-government requires a thoughtfulness and honesty that is foreign to the majority of Americans.

"No Child Left Behind". I now see it is suppose to prepare kids for "the rapture". No money necessary since it is faith based education.

Paraphrasing; "Did you ever pray with Bush?"

Visiting know it all says; "No I have not."

Liberal then says "Well then how do you know he prays?"

13. What really needs to be done is to start an organization of
Christians, Atheists, Agnostics For Truth. That is what we need to do. We need to show in no uncertain terms that we are Americans and we will not tolerate this sham of bogus lies disguised as Christians.
