A close state. My efforts in North Carolina helped Kerry carry my county (barely) but made zero difference in Bush's state-wide 13 point victory.

For those of us who want to escape from solid red states, wouldn't it make sense to consider a close state? Could enough of us immigrate to CO, NV, NM or OH even that we could make a difference next time around?

5. I agree
this has to be one of the biggest issues for us in the next four years. Problem is, the Repukes are in control. As for taking it to the people lets be real. The Freepers could not give a shit about fair elections. Im quite sure over in Freepland they would be dead set against a paper trail for precisely this reason.

7. Canada
for the medical care. I hate that I can't leave the corporate world to start my own business because I can't afford the health insurance. I was hoping Kerry would win for the health insurance benefit I might get.

10. My hermit side has always wanted to be a lighthouse keeper.
Have battled against this hermit facet of mine all my life. Think I might just give in to it. But the lighthouses are all getting automated. So, I would like to go to the biggest lighthouse, the moon! From there, I can watch the water level rise on earth, as I know it will due to global warming.

Maybe the cold moon will make my heart cold enough that I will stop trying to save people too willfully ignorant to see reality. Maybe I will come to accept that humanity is just an experiment of nature and the experiment has been on the brink so long, it is about to collapse from the sheer weight of all the variables.
