I have a dumb question to ask...will Bush still be hidden from
all Americans? During the campaign he was sheltered at rallies and spoke in front of people who would sign the oath, take the pledge and were his leagues of Kool Aid drinkers. Will he now be a president of all the people or will we still be shut out? Maybe it doesn't matter. Let Bushy hid out at the White House, the "ranch," Camp David - he can go back to playing but there will be plenty of people who won't be able to ignore us. To quote a really dumb ass person, "You can run but you can't hide." Everyone in DC is now officially on notice.

I ask this question because I would love to see hundreds, thousands, millions of people marching and protesting at ever event, meeting, photo op Bush, his surrogates, Congressional people appear for the next four years. I would like to see re-plays of the RNC convention peace marches in New York every week for the entire term. I would love to see protests for anti-war, deficit, gay rights, abortion, etc. to make the 1960s protests look like "all day preaching and dinner on the grounds" meetings in comparison. Make our Congress men and women walk through hordes of protestors to get to work. Let the White House and the Supreme Court see angry people in numbers that only have been imagined in the past. Besides the mid-term elections this is the only way we are going to be heard during this administration - and more importantly the Congressmen who think they have a mandate to do anything they damn well please. Now is not the time to give up but take it to their faces. I'm not advocating violent protest or war in the streets but something has got to be done to wake up every elected official and the dumb ass voters who put these charlatans in office. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH. TODAY. NOW. We have got to get the attention of every moderate republican, every democrat, independent in Washington DC and every state and local government in this country. They may have the advantage as far as control in the White House, Congress and the Supreme Court but if they think we are going to roll over and die they are wrong. I'm standing head erect, shoulders back, at the ready and I will be ready to march, write letters, complain, put my money where my mouth is but I will not go quietly into the good night.

I am going to hold their feet to the fire for every bill, law, amendment, appointment, executive decision, every breath, fart and move they make that is counter to the Constitution, for the good of the people or this wonderful country. I will not let them hurt whole segments of society for the good of their rich friends. I want to be their worst nightmare on their worst night. I am not going to be quiet, placid or try and rationalized that the system "worked" and wait another four years to take back my country. The system is broke and it is time to fix it.

Again, I AM NOT advocating violence - nothing of the sort - but there is strength in numbers and we know we have at least 50-60 million people behind us. We can take lessons from Ghandi, Martin Luther King who sway a nation with numbers and peace.

Guess I'm saying, lick your wounds but then get back to work. Join moveon.org, one of the democratic meet-up meetings in your area, or any group that is willing to stand up and say NO MORE. We have to get organized to take back our country from these extremists. Starting today. Who's with me?

2. I'm with you. Let's get this started.
I had the exact same thought about * being hidden from us. Can they really ask for "loyalty oaths" now that he's been re-elected.
How about press conferences. I predict about two or three per year.

5. Make sure to watch the inauguration parade...
If it is anything like the last one you will understand why they have to keep him hidden or blanketed with the Kool-Aiders.

3. just not enough combined emotional energy for that..but
I know what you mean. I do believe his inaugeration should be attended by MANY MANY protesters who aren't protesting his being elected as much as protesting all the carryover issues from term 1. Let him know from the getgo that we are on him.

Some protesters out by the WHITE HOUSE almost nonstop with various signs would be good.

Getting large crowds to anything he attends away from DC would be good and getting large crowds in the city for things like STATE OF THE UNION would also be perfect.

We gotta let them know. I also say to hell with free speech zones. Let people get arrested. It's our land we live on...he's just president for a bit and then it's someone else's turn. He serves at our pleasure and we can take him out of office prematurely.

6. You are so right. Here is a letter I am sending
to Senator Kerry and my Senator
"As a Minnesotan I am proud to say that we Kerry'd our state. Now the president is saying he wants to extend a hand to us, to show us that we're all on the same side. I have some suggestions of ways he might do this. Unfortunately he is not allowed to receive paper mail, does not read his e-mail and does not read newspapers. So that leaves you as the only means by which this message might be delivered. Here's a way he can show that the concerns of millions of us "little people" are a concern to him as well. Go back and sign the Kyoto Treaty. And then follow through on it. Reset the mercury emissions standards to stop poisoning our air and water. Stop giving tax breaks to companies that are outsourcing our jobs. Stop killing innocent people by the hundreds of thousands. Those are just a few of many things that could be done to show that his agenda is about more than just his own twisted notion of right and wrong. But not likely, huh? Well if you think that we are just going to roll over and say, okay we concede, we're alright with all that now, you are deeply mistaken. Thank you for your time and for all that you do."

So, if you guys don't hear from me again.....investigate!

Let them feel the heat. Protest, protest, protest.
