Entrepreneurial idea: The "DEN" - Democratic Economic Network
Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 10:40 AM by Zorra
Any good business folks out there? If you have good business acumen, marketing skills, and some capital, how about starting a Democratic Economic Cooperative, or a private Democratic Economic Coordination service?

If we are going to boycott the Bu$h supporters, we still need goods and services. Democrats and other haters of fascism are STARVING for a way to support their ideals and each other through their economic practices while at the same time they are lightening the fascist wallets. If someone knows how to make this an easier process, it would be a huge service to mankind and may also be enormously profitable and be the salvation of our environment.

I don't need to go into detail, because if you are already a good business person, you have already figured out in a few minutes how much potential for success this idea has.

The time is right. Just look at General Discussion here at DU over the last couple days - boycotting the fascists is the wave of the future.

Anyone got any ideas to post here?

1. What we need is an alternative currency.
We've been toying with the idea here for years.

2. Shop at a food co-op
Buy from local farmers, if you can (if they exist in your neighborhood)

Don't drink any more Pepsi products! (They own Frito-Lay too.) There used to be a political commonplace that Coke was Democratic and Pepsi was Republican, but this was from when the Solid South was a reliable Democratic voting bloc (Coke world headquarters is in Atlanta)-- and carbonated sugar water isn't good for you anyway...

3. Local farmers around here are more likely to be pukes than Dems
Doesn't do me any good to make those kinds of decision on a general basis. We need specifics. We can find out who donated to republican candidates and follow the money. Lets find out who that is locally and what they do in our areas.

7. I'm working on it.
Send me a private message if your interested - i'm working on launching a website that will market & feature democrat/liberal/progressive companies as well as a market to build up ideas, business capital access and such.

We need media outlets, we need think tanks, we need companies that can research and sustain our talking points and we need places where we can set our roots down and be a part of the community, the job market and the service industry.
