My hubby said something chilling to me this morning
about .pdf file he found (he says it was an executive order) that someone on another forum was bragging about at 7AM today. He tells me the executive order was about creating a homosexual registry that would take $200 a year from GLBT citizens "for AIDS research".

Does anyone here know anything at all about this? I seriously doubt the actions against gays and lesbians and others will end with a simple meaningless marriage ban.

By the way, regarding what I said yesterday about masks: take a look at some of the news forums out there and look at what they're saying about GLBTs in particular.

I don't think this ride is going to be hard for us- I think they're going to try to make it fatal... literally. I think they're out to kill us all (GLBTs I mean), and I'm fucking scared stiff, and don't know how I'm going to respond.

1. You can check to see whether it is a legit Exec Order at the
official White House website.

Sounds bogus to me.

3. That streches credibility.
A "Registry" of GLBT? How would they "round up the usual suspects?", who would they include - every bi-curious college student? It just doesn't make any sense.

I don't mean to be bull-headed, but it's just so difficult logistically and so wrong on its face, that I just can't believe it.

Of course there was that whole Nazi thing...

4. Well, I can see one immediate benefit to "them"
The other side, I mean. It would have the immediate and lasting effect of shoving us back into the closet and locking the door. Such a law would most likely have some sort of ID provision, i.e. cops can bust a gay bar and haul off everyone not on "the list". And yes, I totally see that happening now. Go read a couple other "mixed" forums for topics about gays. You'll get an eyeful now.

9. Well, like I said, I don't want to be bull-headed...
And I've got to admit that somehow Hitler (the old Bush family business partner) did manage to round up suspected "sexual deviants", but I just don't see it here any time soon.

Voting no on gay rights is one thing (granted, shitty enough), a "gay tax" or "gay ID cards" just somehow doesn't sound believable.

You say that you can see that happening now, and maybe you're right, but I sure hope not. I just cant bring myself to believe it.

11. And they could deny you a security clearance as well
I'm sure they will bring back this remnant of the McCarthy era soon enough.

6. Who will stop it??
Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 10:50 AM by sparosnare
Will the heterosexual citizens of this country stand up against the government and prevent it from happening? Will they stand together, shoulder to shoulder with the GLBT? No, they won't. They'll do what people are so good at doing; ignore that it's really happening.

10. There are many of us who will
And I'm one of them too Kim.

Sadly though, the ordinary folks who don't want to be bothered with such things won't.

12. The Pubs in "Congress" won't listen
It's one-party rule now, an effective dictatorship by proxy. They'll get to pass whatever laws they want against whomever they want with little or nothing at all to stop them.

Imagine the worst, then prepare for things you couldn't have imagined.

15. Please don't generalize
I know many heteros who will stand shoulder to shoulder with the GLBT" including me.

I understand your frustration at the turn of events this election. The gloves have definitely come off. But GLBT has allies in every community. You're not alone in this battle.

5. True or False - You have to use this
This is/was their strategy. The gloves are off. We must spread this.

7. I know, it's scary
I always vowed I'd never, ever kill another human being. Two days ago, I rapidly reexamined that vow. Today, as I read the open hatred, the "let's kill all the fags" postings from people who were, before at least, not openly homophobic at all, I realize that most of these people really would like to see GLBTs dead.

I'm applying for a CCW permit, by the way. Too late, but that's my fault.

14. Maybe....
Maybe something like this needs to happen to make the rest of us see how fucked up the bitch regime is.
Like I said the first time and I'm saying it again....
AMERICA DESERVES GEORGE BUSH.
