Let's start targeting the vulnerable ones now.

5. Hoeffel could beat him, I think.
He got a lot closer to beating Specter than was anticipated.

7. No, Sorry
I like Hoeffel, but if Rendell or Casey or Hafer goes after Santorum, all three of them have a much better shot.

9. You may be right.
A possible Hoeffel challenge is just what I've been hearing through the grapevine.

12. No way you'll get rid of Frist.
He doesn't come off that extreme in a very Red State. Good luck.

13. I second that...especially now, they need to know we have their backs
We want them to be able to vote for progressive goals, and against regressive ones, without fear. This is why we all should have rallied around Daschle. Did Daschle's loss send a chill to the remaining Dem senators? Did the right send them the message, "Vote our way or else." with the effective targeting and voting out of Daschle. As a symbol, Daschle's defeat is horrible, no matter what anyone may have thought of him. We need to make sure our remaining senators know we know we made a mistake in not coming to Daschle's rescue, and that we will make *certain* that it doesn't happen again.

10. Forget the Senate...we need to take over the HOUSE...
That way we can begin impeachment proceedings in '07.

14. Ours or theirs?
Pardon my dread, but I think some lessons in the art of self-defense are in order.

16. Both.
We must defend ours and attack theirs. You know Bush is going to try to increase his numbers in the Senate. We have to stop that.

We can outraise them - we've done it this year. Now we need to sharpen our message.

17. Clinton is endangered
by new BBV coming before then and by Guiliani's ambitions, besides the huge RW cause against her.

Byrd? Kennedy? Can we afford to let anyone retire? No. Our vulnerability far outweighs the quality of our future candidates.
