I'm thinking of moving to Iowa
Mexico or Canada don't seem feasable right now. I'm pretty close to Iowa and wouldn't have to switch jobs. I think it's important to at least move out of the huge red-state area into the somewhat blue state. That would be one way of helping to build a coalition of states. I doubt we will be getting the south or west anytime soon, so I think it might be worthwhile to build up the area from Ohio to Iowa which could go completely blue with a little help.
Plus the people are nicer there. It's just across the river, but I can still tell the difference.

1. Great idea, we need to move to these states for Senate and House
purposes too. Everyone focuses on the President. If you live in Montana you can more say over two Senators. Iowa is great. I was born in Des Monies.

2. move to iowa city
or eastern iowa in general. maybe the des moines area would be alright. stay away from the northwest in any case. that's my old home, and it's as red as anywhere in the united states.

3. Iowa is a good place
Even if it is light red. It would benefit from you. Go forth and eat corn.

5. I'd be moving to the redder part
I realize it's not the most liberal part of the state, but even so, it's not as red. My Mom's Medicaid benefits are a thousand times better in Iowa than NE and that's because they have a Dem. governor,
Vilsack.
Anyway, it's a doable option which might make things a little better. I want to do something.

I thought originally you were coming from the East. Yeah, its better to be a Hawkeye than a Husker. Good luck to you and mom.

7. Come on over!
But really, the NW corner is really right-wing. Stay as far away from that as you can.
