Nurture yourself now: how-to list
Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 03:30 PM by oscar111
Positive action can lift mood:

1. Local elections can set up some social programs in your state alone. Hope can come before '06.
2. Help Air America Radio.. spread the news of the local frequency, or the url.

http://www.airamericaradio.com

3. Form "Mutual Aid Societies". they were all over in the very early 1900's. I'm not sure exactly how they worked, but they sound like exactly what we need now.

-dont come to any grand overviews on life. You are in turmoil now and mental judgement's off. Wait several days.

-Get lots of sleep. Warm, not hot tub soak of 20+ minutes is a great help.. just before bedtime.

Long walks lift the mood.

Prayer chat with your deity also lifts mood.

Try to bring to mind "the world's best mood". Dont settle for anything less.

Your body's resistance to germs is less during stress. Eat a VARIETY of food. Below is an email i got listing good ways to avoid colds and flu.
==============
COLDS FROM YOUR FINGERS... colds and some flu are thought to spread by the virus getting on ur fingers, and then fingers touchng nose, eye, mouth or even ears. So I began taking that advice, and carefully never touching said areas without a kleenex. So far,12 yrs, no cold or flu.
AVOID A YEAR AND A HALF OF ILLNESS...Thats a year and five months of sickness avoided!!   3colds per yr, two weeks per, times twelve yrs.
200 KINDS OF COLDS, so you can still catch another kind, even if you now have one.   Never drop your guard. You can have 3 or 4 kinds at once.
  DETAILS
I also make sure no fingers touch food, from the Store's container to my mouth.
Be sure a spoon's lower part, the "scoop", is not touched after washing.
------------------
Kleenex MUST BE carefullly folded to four layers before using to scratch eyes, mouth, etc. Just notice how porous a single layer is!   Prefold a few , and carry along if going out. Note which areas of folded kleenex were fingered when folding, and use only the untouched areas when wiping your skin.
NEVER SHARE..Never share cups , food, cigarettes, etc. Never lick envelopes.
Stay upwind of people with colds.
Avoid crowds when possible.
DURING SLEEP..Put two or so kleenexes on the part of pillow that your eye and nose, etc. are likely to press on. Ideally, have nose jut out past the end of the pillow, in addition to the kleenexes on the pillow.
AVOID SIX YEARS OF ILLNESS... A twenty yr old can hopefully avoid nearly six years of illness!   3 colds times two weeks times fifty years. I hope my experience helps you. The fingertip and virus theory sure has proven accurate in my case.
