What really steams my crabs is that the red states insist not only on giving us shitty government, but making us pay for it. What the hell? If they had to actually face the reality of governing in the non-fantasy world, they would sober up real quick.

1. I hate to discourage you but, when I was a kid in 1950, my father
was griping about this problem. So, it hasn't been solved in 54 years.
It does seem like a shame that the large blue states are funding the fundies.

2. On Solution Would be to Eliminate Federal Revenue-Sharing with the States
This would force the states to raise their own taxes. Not a progressive idea, but it would solve the blue drain and help balance the budget.

3. If we stop paying
people like those "strong independent farmers that just want the government to leave them alone" in Montana for not planting wheat as an example.
My nieces ex-husbands "family farm", over one five year period, got over $650,000 in CRP and other payments. These people own over 28,000 acres of good farmland and lease thousands more. My niece told me many years ago while she was still married and doing the books for the farm that the old man and the boys were running a bar tab that averaged about $1,000/month in one of the bars in the little Montana town. These are the kinds of people that really need our help.
A "family ranch" also in Montana receives payments to not run cattle on their private and lease lands. Instead they take dudes out to kill deer and antelope on those same lands for pretty healthy fees. So while being paid not to use the land for its primary purpose they still cash in.

4. What irritates me
is they all come running to CA and NY with their hands out at the same time tehy're running us down. I say screw 'em. Let them sit in their own self-inflicted misery.
