HAPPY LABOR DAY! (get ready to get p.o.'ed!)
Feel free to pass this on to other lists, etc.:

HAPPY LABOR DAY!

- 12,700,000 Americans are Unemployed
- 9,000,000 Americans are collecting Unemployment
Insurance
- 7,500,000 Americans work more than one job to make
ends meet
- 1,700,000 American jobs have left the country since
President Bush took office
- 1 in 3 Americans work more than 40 hours a week
- 2 in 5 Americans that work more than 40 hours a week
don't get paid for the extra time, it is expected of
them by their employer...nice.

U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (not exactly a LIB-RUL source, ya think?)

Let's give Dubya 4 more years...just think of what he
can acomplish by 2008!!!!!!!!!!!! I would rather drink bleach.

I've been posting/emailing it to everywhere/everyone! I originally found that on a Howard Stern message board of all damn places!!!!!!!

It's a nice companion piece to the Mike Moore letter ain't it!?

2. The only people who are going to have job security,
and the only field which will have no end of rapid growth, are those in the goddamned collection business! Those people are making money off of desperate people who don't have money; in other words, they're getting paid, and paid well, because so many others aren't. I know of collectors with just a high school degree who make more than twice as much as me by harassing and strong-arming people for money they don't have, and that makes me sick.

13. No contest!
I remember a great line, can't remember who said it/where it was published, but it was to the affect of this:

"History shall be kind to John O'Neil...it WILL NOT be kind to George W. Bush."

It is really AMAZING that ANY OF US have jobs, ya know???????

Lu

PS WHERE IN THE HELL IS OSAMA!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!? TWO YEARS LATER, AND WE *STILL* HAVE NOT FOUND HIM??????

14. And here's some MORE stats that I'm sure will have us all
having high blood pressure and pissed off to the 9!

U. S. workers work among the longest hours per year of any in the world.

U.S. workers have provided among the greatest increases in productivity over the past twenty years.

What is the reward?

Well, a Secretary of Labor who shows more interest in treating labor as a resource to be exploited than protected.

And let us not forget the new law that takes overtime premiums from the pockets of many workers and will give great flexibility to employers to make up any work schedule they want, with little regard for outside needs of workers, such as family commitments.
