So last night I had an epiphany of sorts... |
|
Not being able to get my mind around why so many people would vote for an idiot like *, I continued to try to figure it out.
Since I work in an all-Repub office (save me), the comments I have been hearing started to make a pattern... "Kerry flip flops" "Kerry didn't earn his medals" "Kerry marries into money" "Theresa isn't a lady" "Theresa and Kerry own a company that outsources" et al ad nauseum.
Remember all those hate e-mails we kept receiving and checking out their authenticity? Every time I replied with snopes, etc. to the ones I got, the response was "I don't have time to read that stuff" "How do you know Snopes is true?", etc.
Seriously, the American people got these constantly. They believe everything they get in their e-mail, chain letters, hoaxes, etc. And they don't go out of their way to verify. I just got that ancient "Amber alert" e-mail from a good friend today.
Rove may have been behind the e-mails, but there was nothing Kerry's campaign could have done to stop it. Personally, I didn't receive many Bush bashing e-mails that were similar, but when I did I erased them, didn't forward them, because I was ABOVE all that. I would only send the stuff I knew to be true and informative. You know, the long boring news articles and stuff that no one reads.
SO, next time I'm going to send out hoax e-mails to everyone I know, making up crap as I go along. And threatening the recipients with bad luck forever if they don't pass it on.
