Kerry won more votes than Bush in 2000, and this election was very close |

One of the closest in history.
48-51 is not a landslide by any means. The reason it looks so bad is that the Pukes picked up some Senate seats in Red States.

While I like Kerry and voted for him, I can't help but think that 55 million of those votes were referrendums on W. That's a very, very large number.

The newsreaders are all chanting "51%of the popular vote" like a mantra, as if that lends legitimacy to Bush's (re-)election.
Gee, John Kerry got 49 per cent of the popular vote and lost by a mere three million votes.
Bill Clinton defeated Bob Dole by 8 million votes in 1996 but got only 47% of the all ballots cast for president.
