Do you people realize what we've lost??!!!!! It is really really bad.
Abortion will be made illegal-abortion doctors will be executed Civil Rights legislation built up over the last 50 years will disappear Segregation will be legal again Homosexuality will be made a crime punishable by jail time Free speech rights will be curtailed with Christo-Fascists "monitoring" and reporting any dissent Environmental protections will be gutted-goodbye Endangered Species Act, Clean Air Act, etc. American with Disabilities Act will be gone. Public schools will be decimated by the wide use of vouchers. A 2 tiered school system will develop, one for the rich, one for everyone else. Women's rights legislation will be gone-forget equal pay for equal work. Creationism will be taught in public schools as fact, evolution will be ignored. Public schools will be started with a mandatory prayer of the day, and the 10 Commandments will be on the walls of every classroom and in all public buildings such as courtrooms. Censorship will greatly affect movies, TV, music, and books. Forget about Porn. Adultery will be made a crime
Some of these things might seem extreme, but we have an extreme President in office supported by an extreme Congress, and soon to be an extreme Supreme Court. We need to look the monster in the eye and see it for what it really is. I've seen too much "happy" talk here the last 2 days and it makes me sick. This is a major turning point in the history of the United States, and we need to realize this before we have any chance of acting to fix it. Right now, I don't know if we can fix it. So much damage can be done in 4 years, I think the above list will become just a short list of what the Repugs will accomplish. They are so solidly in the driver's seat and shockingly more than half the US population apparently agrees with them. I really don't know how we fight this. I am very depressed and angry. We fought as hard as anyone could fight for this election, and we still lost, and lost badly. I need to give myself some time to come to terms with this, and maybe I'll see a way out down the road. Until then, I will be licking my wounds and trying to not explode in a blind rage.

1. I'm not so sure about racism being promoted |

I'd suspect neocons consider it a liability. There's plenty of attributes to oppress people about (gay, atheist, liberal, feminist) and they want as many happy brainwashed Jeebus fanatics as they can.

Probably only for Democrats. The repubs wouldn't have anyone left to vote for them, if they did that.

How about home schooling for liberals? How about a true liberally based curicula that one can use solely or as an addendum to the public school material. Why don't we start raising a generation of open minded people who eat conservatives(esp the fundamentalists)for lunch? I'm in this for the long haul - as for Bush&Co., I plan on living long enough to dance on their graves. :) Now if that imagery doesn't bring a smile to your face what will?

and give it to the fundie church schools. Another "faith-based" initiative.
and if your kids avoid indoctrination in school, they'll get it in the Army when they're drafted.
